Worx GT WG150 10 in. 18 Volt Cordless String Trimmer w/ 1 battery Logo
Posted on Jul 16, 2010

The battery on my Worx GT doesn't seem to hold it's charge. I have actually taken it directly off the charger when the light is green and it doesn't have full power. Sometimes it does. The unit is 3 years old. Is this a normal life expectancy for the battery?

It happened to me. I discovered it's the charger, not the battery.

We had the same problem with our battery. It worked fine for 18 months. Then, this summer, it just wouldn't work at all. We left the battery on the charger until the light went green (we tried this several times) but still the battery wouldn't work. I hooked it up to a Volt meter to verify that the battery was the problem and it was only pulling 1.7 volts (not the 18V the battery for the WG151 model is supposed to have).

Trying to charge Worx leaf blower. Green light flashing on charger and charger is clicking. What's up?

May be a defective battery....Worx chargers aren't trickle- down so you can't leave the battery plugged into the charger when it's fully charged

WORX 24V charger won't charge

I'm having the same problem. Worked great then didn't last as long. Now I'm stuck with this piece of crap useless piece of equipment. I'm back to spending too much time trimming with scissors since I can't afford a new battery non the less a new trimmer. Thanks a lot WORX! It doesn't Work! I'll never buy another of their product!

What does it mean when my worx battery charger has a solid red light.

according to manualslib type site for the wg540, solid red means charging for the wa3840 and wa3838. After 30 minutes if battery has not reached 10 volts (of 18), the red will begin flashing meaning defective.
Just green? Ready to go. Green flashing? Overheat.
Tangent; sometimes a discharged battery needs a little coaxing - have to get a little voltage into the battery for charger to try to charge. Different company, electric drill. I plead ignorance if this applies for the 3840 since they mention the half an hour time.

My worx will not stay charged... the charger goes green after about 10 minutes and only runs for about 5 minutes...

it sounds like the battery has seen better days. a battery will get a "memory" and after while it could fully charged as far as the charger know but only hold a little charge. with the advices in batteries they shouldn't do this but they all do wear out of time. I would get a new battery, and everything should be just fine. With the any new rechargeable battery you want to make sure that you charge it completely and drain it the whole way before recharging.
Best of luck

I am having problems with either my worz gt trimmer battery and or charger, when I put the battery in the charger the red light stasys on for a few seconds, then turns green, but the battery isn't charged,...

WE ARE ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS. THE TROUBLE SEEMS TO BE THE BATTERY'S OR
THE CHARGING SYSTEM.

THANKYOU. MRS SABATINO

PS. I WOULD REALLY LIKE AN ANSWER. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM.

Flashing red light indicates battery is bad. Flashing green light indicates charger is bad.

Charger light blinks red never goes to solid red which is charging mood Had a friend charge the battery it does charge problem is with the charger not the battery

Worx has had issues with their chargers and their batteries. They don't seem to last as long as the machine does. A simple voltmeter test of the charger and any battery will tell the story. The charger's output rating should be printed on it and the battery also. Touch test leads from voltmeter to the two and check.
