Stop working. brush was cloged. It there a reset button?

I turned it off and then turned it on again a few second later and it stopped working.
The brush was clogged with string and hair, so I cleaned it out. Still wouldn't work (10 min. later)

I had a similar thing happen and just got off the phone with dyson. there is a resettable switch on the handle. they told me to start the vacuum in the upright position, put it in the non upright position, then push and hold in the beater bar switch which is located next to the on/off button for 10 seconds and the beater bar should start to function once again

Dyson has a built in mechanism to stop it from switching on if it over heats and it takes longer than 10 minutes to reset leave it cool completely then try again if this doesn't work it will need to be repaired either contact dyson or the shop where you bought and arrange to have it fixed

My brush stop working

Barring any electrical failure or loose plug the most common cause for the vacuum brush to stop turning is belt clogged with debris or string.
Unplug the unit and check the brush for string or debris (Hair) wrapped around the pully on either end. Clear this and check the belt to make sure it has not broken, stripped or simply slipped off. Usually the bottom plate is held on with just a few screws. Easy to remove and check Belt slipped off or stripped replace. Belt slipped off you can sometimes put back on and be vacuuming in no time.
Anything wrapped around the spindle a pair of needle nose pliers comes in real handy here. If you have snagged a rug, sheet or sock etc.. check the manual for a reset button. Some vacuums have this and all it takes is clearing the chute then resetting the switch. Good luck hope this helps!

There are numerous things that could cause this. It would be best to find a qualified Dyson repair person to determine the cause of your DC28.

The carpet sweeper on my electrolux stopped working....used it for a little bit and then it just stopped

Make sure the brush is cleared and clean, press the reset button, and try again.
If the motor runs, but the brush doesn't turn, it's likely due to a broken belt. Have it replaced by someone who knows what they're doing.
I strongly recommend taking it into an authorized shop.

Premalite vac brush stopped turning

Not familiar with thi sbrand, but a reset is for when the brushes get jammed pr stalled, it will trip the reset. Make sure that the brsuh roll turns easily, also for a broken belt and/or bad brush roll. Some resets are for when the vac motor over heats, it will trip saving the motor. Usually this is for a jammed brush roll or a clog.

Rainbow SE power nozzle

If the brush is spinning ok, and the belt isn't slipping, then probably the circuit breaker is bad, or the motor is causing the problem.
