Sometimes it happens that you start the computer and get black screen having this message, "NTLDR is missing press Ctrl ALT DEL to restart". This mostly happens when the virus infects your computer, because most of the viruses attach themselves to the NTLDR files. This can also happen due to power failures, problem in master boot sector, corrupt bios settings, or some other problem in the boot.ini file. These files play a very important role in rebooting the system and if there comes any problem or they get corrupted by some virus or for some other reason, then they do not allow the hard drive to boot. However, its not that much difficult to fix this error, as all you need is to get your installation cd and then need to follow some simple steps. This will definitely help you in fixing your boot loader to the working state.
*First, you need to get your installation cd and then place it in your hard drive and restart your system.

However, there could be some different scenario as well depending on your bios setting. This is because of the fact that if you have not given priority to your hard drive then it would not boot in this way. For this, you need to change your boot device priority and its better that you set this priority to your CD Drive.
*Once you enter the setup and it loads the entire program, then you need to press the R key, which is for repairing the windows installation. This action will take you to the dos mode where further processing will be done. In the dos mode, system will ask you about installation place. Most of the people install their operating system in the C drive, which comes at number 1 option, so you need to press option 1. However, if you have so many partitions or you have installed the operating system then you need to choose the option according to your drive name. Here you need to enter your password as well, but if you have not set any password then you can simply press enter.
*Then there will be a c:\WINDOWS
