Canon ZR65MC that will not show image on LCD or viewfinder

Click the "disp" button. The display of the camera has been turned off in the LCD screen but you can still use the viewfinder, this functionality is just for those who prefer to use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen.

Notify Canon, they will pay for shipping and repair free of charge. There is a problem with the wiring affected by heat and humidity, Look on Canon website under ZR65MC, or your model number, and look for "Advisory".

I looked into to this it is the ccd and Canon will fix it for free (shipping included), as stated below. I have copied what has helped me!
It has recently come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensor used in this Canon digital camera may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. While reports of this malfunction have been rare in the United States, we have determined that it may occur if the product is exposed to hot and humid environments.
Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, products exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair.
U.S. residents are kindly directed to contact the Canon Customer Support Center for further assistance at 1-800-828-4040. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

First thing to try is that you didn't accidentally turn off the LCD screen. Turn on the camera, and press the bottom DISP on the back of your camera.

If that didn't work, the next thing to try is to take a picture while the viewfinder is black. Download the picture to your computer, and view it on the computer's monitor. Does this picture also show up as black. If so, then the camera's CCD imager has likely failed, requiring professional camera service to be repaired. Most DSLR cameras (like your Canon) don't have a live view - in other words, you can't "see" the image before you capture it. You must use the viewfinder.

This is a Digital SLR With SLR cameras you can only use the viewfinder because the image comesi nto the lens and up to the viewfinder via a mirror. When to take a pic the mirror flips up[usually with a crash] and the image goes to the CCD- afterwards you will get an image briefly in the LCD.
