Hose not draining, bucket only fills

I connected a hose to my dehumidifier, it drained continously from the hose for approx 8 months. Now that it is working overtime, summer months, the hose stopped draining and the bucket is filling with water.

The easiest way to unstop the hose is to blow air through the end enough to clear the clumped up dust at the other end using air compressor or air pump.

How to make unit drain through hose, instead of filling bucket?

Assuming you have a hose connected to the bucket for drainage, it is necessary that the end of the hose be lower than the top level of the bucket or the bucket will fill before the hose drains. I see many people who have their units on the floor and run a hose up into a sink and wonder why the bucket fills. Gravity works.....if you cannot find a lower place to drain the water then you must raise the unit up on a table or stand of some sort to get the bucket higher than the drain.

Whirlpool AD50USS Dehumidifier WILL NOT DRAIN THROUGH HOSE

I have a similar model. There are two drains, one for the hose and one directly into the bucket. The hose one is supposed to be lower, but I had to put a 3/8 inch block under the right side of the unit to get the water to favor the hose instead of the bucket. Another possibility is that the far end of the hose is higher than the near end. If you can't lower it, you can put the whole dehumidifier up on blocks. One other thing to check is that the hose has a rubber washer in it where it connects to the unit. Use a tissue to see if this connection is dry. If it leaks, it will just drip into the bucket.
Good luck!

Hose connected but not draining and bucket filling

I am also an air conditioning tech, with same problem and same soleus dehumidifier problem. you must remove the plug and install the drain line hose adapter. Hose must lay flat and have no "hills" for water to drain. With this done pull your drain pan out and set aside. look under right side facing the dehumidifier and you will see a small spout. Has a lip like a little tea pot. Plug that spout. I used a foam ear plug used in work shops. Now give the front of dehumidifier a slight rise on front wheels about the thickness of a pies of cardboard 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Now put drain pan back in an start up. The problem is the drain pan was made with very little differance in pitch between the the hose drain and the bucket drain. Remember to check your drain hose periodically and the air filter also. Good luck

How do i start the continous mode (water going to drain) not to bucket?

Depending on which bucket style your unit has, will determine where the 5 foot long drain hose (garden hose) is attached to the bucket. I have included a link to your Owner's Manual that will give you not only instructions on how to connect the hose, but also a visual look of how to do it. You can find this on Page 8.

Will not drain out of the hose i have to keep emptying the pan i thought it was suppose to drain out of the hose to keep running

If the hose is connected to the tap on the drain pan/bucket, did you knock out the center of the hose connection on the bucket? If you didn't that's the problem. If that's not where your hose connection is located, do not put the bucket back in. It triggers the unit to fill the bucket and not use the hose drain. Keep in mind the hose must remain lower than the connection on the dehumidifier to drain properly.

Why doesn't dehumidifier drain through hose? Even with the hose connected, the water still drips into the bucket and shuts off.

Water fills in the bucket and will not drain

I've got the same problem. It drained through the hose for 6 months, but recently stopped and now fills the bucket. I connected a new hose, but that didn't help. I found some debris inside the dehumidifier (where you connect a hose to), but removing that didn't help. I may try taking the unit apart to see if somehow a cricket or some sludge got built up inside.
I'll post my findings. Hopefully it won't be too complex or nasty!!

50 pint dehumidifier has drain hose connected but fills up the drain bucket and stops running....

safety switch is turning off the dehumidifier....you need to drain out the bucket more often....or put the drain hose into an actual drain....ive seen some people run a small plastic hose from the dehumidifier to the sump pump hole in their basement.

Figidaire 25 pint dehumidifier

Check the point on the tank (Bucket) where the hose connects to. Make sure there is no obstruction at the outlet of the bucket to the hose connection. Next make sure the hose has no kinks or no loops that may trap air to the drain. If necessary for a long run to the place of drainage raise the dehumidifier to a higher level for better drainage.
