Can't play DVDs I recorded on the DBRH197 on the V8824W

My DVD player (V8824W) won't recognise discs recorded on the DVD recorder, but plays commercial DVDs fine. I just get the message "Reading" and a series of clicks. Can anyone help?

Trying to record from VCR to DVD, when the 'DUB' button is pushed, I get a 'No Recorded Titles' message. These are old home movies, no encryption or anything.

We have an old LG HDD DVD recorder. We are currently recording all our videos onto the hard drive and transfering them onto disc, but apparently there's some sort of code that won't allow any disc...

U can't get rid of their patended codes sorry, but u can bypass their patended codes by recoppying it all over again with a computer with a movies coppying software by buy an install software on your computer for recoppying it all over again, than u can play into any DVD player u want.

When trying to play a computer generated DVD +R DL, I get a message that says this type of disc cannont be played. please insert a different disc

The disc is probably an incompatible format for this model player. Even if the disc is finalised in your PC, or in a DVD recorder, this player may still be unable to read it. Some DVD recorder/players do not recognise DVD+R (or +R DL) media, while others won't recognise +/-RW discs (except CD-RW); this is a model limitation - not a fault with either your player, the PC burning software or the discs themselves.

Nothing can be done to fix this except purchasing a model which accepts multimedia (+R/DVD-RAM etc). The question is, does your player play ANY normal DVDs? I am guessing your player will accept DVD-R DL discs just fine since this is standard as well as proper shop-bought movies.

Dvds recorded on video to dvd recorder wont play elsewhere

Mosr DVD recorders have a "compatible" setting or require you to "finalise" the disc. Check that is being done.

It's also worth checking that the laptop will play other DVDs sometimes you need a codec.

Why can't l play DVD's recorded on this recorder on other player

DVDs come in different versions.
Try using the -R DVDs. Once your DVD recorder finalizes the DVDs they should on any DVD palyer.

Check your manual to find out the finalizing method for your DVD recorder.

I hope this solution is helpful. Let me know.

Playing recorded DVDs on PC or other DVD player

Recordings from your DVD recorder should play on other DVD players as long as you finalize the recording on your recorder.

A PC should recognise an un-finalized, but only in a DVD writer drive.
