NEW AIR CARD HAS SIGNAL BUT NOT CONNECTING TO NETWORK

I HAVE A NEW AIR CARD. COMMUNICATION MANAGER WAS DOWNLOADED. WIRELESS ENABLED. BLUE LIGHT ON. COMMUNICATION MANAGER DISPLAYS THAT THERE IS SIGNAL BUT "CANNOT CONNECT TO THE NETWORK". THEN MESSAGE DISPLAYS THAT I AM "ATTEMPTING TO CONNECT AT A HIGH TRAFFIC TIME..." THIS IS NO MATTER WHAT TIME I ATTEMPT TO CONNECT. SERVICE PROVIDER SAYS NO ISSUE WITH NETWORK. SENT NEW AIR CARD. SAME ISSUE. SPENT SEVERAL HOURS ON PHONE WITH PROVIDER. BROUGH THE LAPTOP INTO STORE OF PROVIDER. 4MOS LATER - SAME ISSUE. HELP!

Go into your firewall setting either in control panel or anti virus and set firewall settings to allow this connection. If you can't figure out which one to allow then allow them all or turn off firewall and check to see if you then can connect.

I have had three aircards due to many problems including not being able to install the communication manager program from the aircard to not being able to connect to the att network. well, i got a laptop the other day and figured i was going to have problems with the aircard UNTIL i went to the sierra wireless website and did some investigating!! i think the problems lie with the communication manager rather than the aircard itself. >>>download the 3GWatcher program directly from sierra wireless and use that instead of the communication manager. it offers all the same functions and worked right off the bat....i took my laptop with the aircard out on a golf course in the middle of nowhere to test and everything worked beautifully!!
i, too, spent many hours on the phone with att....very frustrating!
and no reps even suggested that i try the 3GWatcher program...they all blamed the problems on a "bad batch" of aircards.... hmmmmm!!
try it, you'll like it!

Driver wireless notebook

An internal wireless card lets you access the Internet and a home or corporate computer network without the hassle of using an Ethernet or other type of network connection.

The wireless card grabs the communication signal flowing throughout the air and processes the signal through your Gateway PC's Windows operating system so you can access websites, email and related Internet-based services.

But like other devices in your computer, you must turn on the internal wireless card in your Gateway PC before using it.

Turn on your computer, if it is off.

Press and hold the "Fn" key on your computer's keyboard.
Press the "F2" key in the upper row of keys on your keyboard.

The wireless Internet card's connection utility will start searching for a wireless signal.
Connecting to a Signal

Click "Start," "Connect To."
If your Gateway PC is running Windows 7, click on the Windows symbol on the taskbar. Click "Control Panel," "Network and Internet," "View network status and tasks."

Click on the wireless connection you want to connect to.

If using Windows 7, click on "Connect to a network," then click on the wireless connection you want to connect to.

Click "Connect." Enter the wireless connection's network password (SSID), if prompted. Click "Next."

Click "Connect Anyway," if prompted with a message about the connection not being secure.

Click "Close." Open your Gateway PC's Internet browser or email application to start using the Internet connection.

How do I turn on my WLAN on my Compaq Presorio CQ57?

Make sure the wifi card is installed and after that look for the wireless enable button ..It should be somewhere near the wireless indicator led..or ..sometimes it is hidden on the edge of the front side..Just press and the led should be blue when it is enabled or red if it is disabled..
Another way ..is just check in the device manager for the card to be installed and without any warning signs ..(right click on computer aka my computer ...and select properties and hardware and device manager or select directly device manager for windows 7 ..)in there look under network ..and if the wireless card is present and not having an ask sign in yellow it means it is functional ..
click right on it ..and select enable ..or ..close the manager and go to network places...and select the wireless connection ..and click right on it ..and select enable ..This will be equivalent of pressing the external enable button ..
It should make it present in the notification area..and you can select the network after making a scan for them ..
If nothing works..go to the hp support / downloads..select your model ..and operation system ..and download again the wireless card driver ..run it and restart it ..This should make it functional ..but also you have to check if it is enabled..
lets hope is js a matter of pressing the button and make it functional ..Good luck ..!

I have a pavilion dv7-7123cl and the wireless is not working..the signal is always orange when it should be blue

The light is pressure sensitive. Press it and see if it turns blue. If that doesn't fix your problem then the adapter might be disabled. To check that go into your Network and Sharing center and on the left side of the screen click on manage network connections. There should not be an X on wireless network connection, if there is then right click on it and choose enable.

Wireless card wn5301a not working. installed in an xp machine 1.7GHz P4, 1G ram can see wireless networks & allows me to enter network key, but fails to connect

Is this a new card you've installed or have you reinstalled the OS?

First verify that the card is enabled. Go to control panel, network connections and select wireless. If the button says Enable, click it and your card should communicate.

If there's no wireless setup to enable check the driver:

Go to control panel, select system, hardware, device manager, network adapters and select your wireless card. Then run the troubleshooter to get the card to work.

If the hardware isn't there to be selected, you don't have a driver installed for that card. Go out to the manufacturer's website and install it.

Dell Inspiron 1525 not connecting wirelessly to Sky broadband

If your wireless router is configured with SSID, encryption, MAC address filtering (if enabled) etc. then the Dell wireless card needs to be configured with these settings to allow it to communicate with the wireless router.
Check the settings on your PC's wireless settings, and configure the Dell the same way.
