Oil used in engine is SAE30, I would suggest adding bit of Nulon or similiar Teflon based before even first run as it will extend life of the engine, This is air cooled Honda and therefore overheat easy.

Oil used in pump is Universal Tractor Transmission Oil.

Except two, all pumps are equiped with sight glass, fill as indicated on sight glass or dipstick.

To extend life of your equipment, change oil in both, engine and pump after 50hrs.

If you live in colder climates, where freezing is possible, do not forget to drain pump and high pressure hose from water to avoid winter damage.

Hope this will help keep your equipment in top notch for years to come:-)

Honds 5 horse engine on a troy built power washer, need to add pump oil. how do I do this?

There should be a little wondow on the side of the pump body to show you the oil level and a oil filler cap on the top of the pump body . There should also be a drain on the bottom of the water pump this is not the engine its the water pump . It will take 10 -30 or 30 wieght oil check your manual or local dealer for your specific pump oil requirements . But if you use it often change it don't add and do the engine oil tothis is the biggest killer of pumps and engines and pumps nelgeliting oil changes also eighter drain all water from the pump or winterize in freezeing temputers

I have an oil leak from a drain hole in front of engine.what could be the problem?

If the oil plug bolt is leaking you need a new aluminum sealing washer. There are no oil weep holes in the front of the motor. Is it the weep hole under the water pump? You probably have a bad water pump seal or a bad oil seal on the water pump shaft. Buy a new water pump and the K&L water pump gasket kit. The K&L gasket kit comes with all the gaskets, seals, and washers necessary to do the water pump replacement for a fraction of the cost of the OEM Honda individual gaskets, seals, and washers.

Water goes thru. have hydrulic oil to level. gun semas to stick on. NOT GETTING ANY PRESSURE AT NOSSEL.

Hydraulic oil?
Is this a pressure washer?
Pump should be half full of SAE20 or SAE30 non-detergent motor oil.
Engine should have 10W30 motor oil.

If you have a pressure washer ... and not water is coming out end of gun:
Take all hoses off machine.
Look at incoming water hose connection.
The should be a filter washer.
Clean or replace filter washer.
Hook up water and turn on water.
Water should come out other side of pump.
Turn on power washer and see if water coming out of pump is pressurized.
Now hook up pressure hose without gun.
Turn on pressure washer and see if water comes out of hose and is pressurized.
Finally, the gun may be bad.
We used to replace guns when they went bad.

My pressure washer is a G 2500 oh n i have no pressure coming out, it turns on but no pressure.

Good news, your engine runs
But your pump may be bad

Here's how to test your pump
Check oil as outlined lower down
Disconnect the washer hose and gun
Connect water hose and turn on water and water should pass straight through the pump
Look for clogs in the hose-end where water hose connects to machine

Turn on machine and see if water shoots out pump
If water shoots out of pump, but no water shoots out of gun, then you may have a 'mud-dobber' wasp clog in your washer line or gun

Look for clogs in the end of each water connection.
Now connect washer hose without the gun, tun on the machine, and see if water shoots out of washer hose
Finally, the gun trigger mechanism may be bad
I don't know which gun you have ... but we replaced guns on our machine now-and-then ... google-search power washer guns for a replacement

Check your pump oil
Pump oil is SAE20 or SAE30 non-detergent motor oil
Pump should be no more than 1/2 full of oil
Use plastic hose to drain pump oil
Do not turn machine on its side or turn machine over or engine oil will run into carburetor

Pump oil seeps out of its fill cap.

More than likely you have water leaking into your oil, making the oil float on the top and out of the vent. Eventually you'll only have water, and no oil. Drain oil and replace. You will probably have to replace the seals between pump and crankcase. Only remove front of pump,(brass part) if you catch it in time the bearings in the rear portion won't go out. Do it now before the water wears the pump out. You can get parts for most pumps at www.pressure-washer-parts.com. Or go to www.cometpumps.com Hope this helps.

Hot water coming out of a cold water pressure washer

This sounds like a heat transfer problem

You should check that the oil reservoir for the pump has oil in it. It sounds like it may be low. Also, if it is a gas model, the engine oil may be low.

Remember the pump oil reservoir should be only 1/3 to 1/2 full of non-detergent oil.
