Loud Noise Recently, my projector has started making a loud buzzing noise. It is loud enough to be an inconvience to watching movies or television. I have just cleaned the lamp, which was very dusty, and it is still making the noise. Please help. Thank you.

Hey topher1234,

If this is an X1, X2 then you could be looking at a common issue with the DLP color wheel. Seems that the wheel can make an intermittent noise for some time before the sound becomes constant. The solution is to replace the wheel which is not easy to come by.

Take a look at another who had a similar issue to see if you are experiencing the same; http://www.fixya.com/support/t358467-infocus_x1_projector

Hi topher1234

I will need your Make and Model of the Projector , before I can do a diagnosis. Also include if this is a LCD or DLP machine.

Together with the above , can you feel any vibration on the Projector when you place your hand on it ?

Loud popping noise and spark coming from red projector

I would guess you have a High Voltage Leak at the Anode Lead Cap where it Mounts to the CRT. This is not a area to mess with You are better off calling a professional to fix it. It may be a little difficult to confirm if it is a intermittent problem.
Hope this helps,

Buzzing noise, trying to open the cover

It sounds like a piece of your colour wheel has fallen off. You will need to take the front panel off (2 screws) plus the two plastic rings around the lens pull out. Be careful not to snap a circuit that sticks out behind the remote sensor on the front. I've had this problem a few times but have just glued it in with 24 hour drying glue, the noise i had was so loud it was hard to watch anything, plus i lost the red colour to the picture until i glued it back in.

My TV makes a loud buzzing noise whenever there is a bright picture on

This is usually caused by video signals overdriving circuits. Too much video causes what you are describing. This is sometimes caused by a bad cable or connection, either a TV cable or a video cable. Hopefully it's not a projector problem. If you can check the connections from your receivers and VCR with the projector on you might be able to pin point the problem. Be gentle and if there is adoubt about a cable, just replace it.

Plazma TV buzzing noise

I have the same problem I can hear buzzing over the volume of the tv into the 30 range. I've had a tech out 3 times and he's coming out for a fourth. He's changed to power supplies and is bringing the 3rd next visit. From what I've read it has either to do with power supplies or grounding strips.
