I had the same problem, first off let me tell you. DO NOT TRY TO UNLOCK THE PHONE. Don't try and guess the code or anything like that. If you get it wrong more than 10 times, your SIM card is wiped forever.....let me say that again FOREVER. Call the service line with another phone and they'll be able to give you the code to unlock it.

You have the right information, the IMEI#. You just need to contact your provider for the unlock code. Because the unlock code is IMEI specific. If you try and go on web site, they'll sell you the unlock code. Why not go to the source, and get it free. If ATT won't give it to you, go to the Manufacture. But, you MUST use your carrier first.

You have to take the phone back to the Samsung authorized mobile phone service rep for your area, or get your dealer to do that for you.

If your provider does not know your pass code to unlock the phone, they will send it for service. The service tech will re-load the complete firmware package if necessary. This will however, erase all your user data.

Normaly they will charge for this type of service. In our area we pay something like $60 if the password is lost and they have to have their tech work on it.
