As i understand you have a router provided by your ISP: MTNL, you need to configure the Belkin router in Dynamic mode and not in PPPoE. Then restart the devices by unplugging the power from MTNL router and Belkin. Wait for 20 secs, then power up MTNL router 1st, wait for all lights to get steady and finally power up the Belkin wireless router. Then you will find the modem and internet light lit up properly.
For any further clarifications, revert!

Thanks and regards,
Arvind

but the mtnl modem is configured with PPPoe settings. shouldnt belkin wireless be setup with PPPoe as well?

  • Anonymous Jul 14, 2010

All the modems are configured with PPPoE or PPPoA. But it all depends on how you connect and go online. Let me be very simple, if you connect the computer direct to modem and go online right away, then Belkin needs to be configured as Dynamic but if you got a username and password from MTNL and if you use something like a dial-up, as in, 1st authenticate your user name and password n then go online. Only in this special case, Belkin needs to be configured in PPPoE mode.
    Again, for further clarifications, revert!
    Thanks and regards,
    Arvind

I have Belkin N150 Rouer. My internet is Time warner. It has no connection between the modern and Belkin router. How can I set up Belkin N150 Router to solve this problem?

f the modem light keeps blinking, it means that the router hasn't been configured yet. Also, rarely, it can be an issue with WAN port/modem port on the router or the ethernet cable connecting the modem to router or finally, modem may not be working as its not applicable in this case(as you said).

1.Connect comp.--(gray port) router (yellow port)--modem
2.On the computer, open the router page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of browser

NOTE : IF YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER IS CABLE FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS

3.Under Internet WAN , SELECT the connection type as Dynamic.->NEXT
4.On the far left column, click on "MAC address" under Internet WAN.
5.Click on clone and apply changes and finally check Internet status
6.If internet status > Not connected, we need to do a network power cycle
7.For this, unplug the power from router, then from modem, then unplug the coaxial cable from cable modem.
8. Wait for 60 sec, then connect the coaxial cable, then connect power to modem, wait for lights on modem to get steady, then finally, plug in the power to router.
Now, you may see proper lights lit on the router.
All my best wishes for a fast internet service through the router.

FOR PPPOE OR DSL CONNECTIONS
1.Under Internet WAN , SELECT the connection type as PPPOE ->NEXT
2.ENTER THE USERNAME & PASSWORD PROVIDED BY YOUR IN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER
3.CLICK ON APPLY CHANGES

For any advanced help, revert asap!
Thanks and regards,

I'm using the n150 wireless router. There six lights on the router. Security is lit up and wireless is not. I can not get internet to the other computers in the house

Each computer's network wireless card needs to be configured with the wireless routers settings to get access to the router and the Internet.
Please click on this link for my instructions to secure your wireless network and configure the computer's wireless connection :-

I have recently bought a Belkin Wireless Router and I am unable to connect to the Internet on my laptop. What do I need to do to connect my laptop to the internet using the Belkin Wireless router?

your Internet modem or router needs to be connected to the Belkin router's WAN port with an ethernet cable. You'll then need to configure the belkin's wireless settings, it's usually a very easy "follow the prompts" kind of setup.

F5D8233-4v3 - Belkin Wireless Router

You must configure the wireless settings of the laptop manually. It should match the wireless settings of your router. If you have wireless encryption enabled, make sure to type the network key on the wireless settings of your laptop.

Belkin n1 wireless usb adapter

Dear Friend,

1. Connect your ISP modem to your PC and configure as Bridge mode.

2. Remove your ISP modem and connect your wireless router to your PC and configure as PPPOE mode. (refer http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/reviews/article.php/3645166 if any doubt on configuration)

3. Now connect your ISP modem to wireless router, The modem should connect to your WAN cable.

4. And Give the wireless router's IP in your laptop as Gateway (In TCPIP settings of your Laptop wireless adapter / or configure DHCP)

5. Now you can access internet on both systems.
