Welcome to Fixya General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)
is a packet-based wireless service used for sending and receiving data
through the internet protocol. With GPRS, the transmitted data is
divided into various 'packets' before it is received by the user.
To use GPRS, users require:
A mobile phone that supports GPRS
A subscription or upgrade, as relevant, to the mobile network that supports GPRS
Some users would specifically require asking their
mobile network provider to activate the GPRS while other network
operators allow automatic access
Knowledge of how to do data transfers on their specific
model of the mobile handset as it varies depending on the models and
brands.
Setting up GPRS for your phones: Usually
activating GPRS on your phones are done by the service providers, and
different service providers have different configurations. Additionally,
the settings for GPRS vary based on the different phones and phone
models. As activation is required before setting up you should know that
activation process vary from one provider to other. It could be as
simple as sending an SMS to a particular number or calling customer care
of that particular service provider. Once the activation is taken care
of, the setting of the GPRS is done based on the model of the phone. It
is important to note here that the setting for GPRS is different for
different phones companies and may be different even for the different
models produced by these companies. Therefore, it is recommended that you
rely on the information given directly from the service provider. Again
activation process may be different for postpaid and prepaid customers.

Gangu,
you cant activate GPRS. It is done by the service provider. Once they activate the GPRS, they will send to you the settings. If in doubt contact their technical helpline. Contact their helpline to get it activated. Tell them the mobile Make and Model.
If you can browse all other site other than Yahoo, then try downloading opera mini for http://mini.opera.com It's a great java based mobile browser threw which you can browse all websites as like you do in your pc. If you cannot browse any of the web / wap sites then contact your mobile network operator for GPRS activation and also for configuring your mobile with network related settings.
