Panasonic analog phones plug into analog KSU's and have extension numbers beginning with 101. In additon, you can dial 0 to reach the phone programmed as Operator, and it's usually extension 101.
With the intercom dial tone (press INTERCOM or pick up the handset or press SP PHONE) you can start dialing codes defined in your number plan. You can also program left side buttons to monitor are directly select other extensions or dial codes to page all idle speakers in a 77xx phone.
Note this is specific to TA series systems, but the operation is similar in all Panasonic models.
Not possible. A Panasonic Analog PITS phone has only one ring sound and all CO rings match.
The TD series and 74xx phones were the first phones to have 8 ring tones. The TDA series has 30 different tones. Prices are fairly competitive for upgrading.
A 7731 phone is compatible with about 18 different Panasonic phone sytem cabinets. Panasonic calls this line preference-outgoing and, in a TA series, which you're most likely to have, you press PROGRAM and dial 12 STORE for idle line, or 13 and a number from 1-8 for a specific line and STORE. 11 STORE puts it back to no preference.
Press PROGRAM, the button and dial 1 plus the extension of the new number and STORE. You can keep touching new buttons and dial the sequence ending in STORE.
What happens when you dial "9" into the intercom dial tone? Is that the line you wnat to auto select?
A lot depends on the system your phone is connected with. In a TA series on an idle phone, press PROGRAM 11 for no preference (what you have) 12 for Idle line (what you get when you dial 9) or 13 and a number from 1 to however many lines you have to select a specific line.
Those commands are followed by the STORE button and PROGRAM to end the programming.
Remember that PROG 13 you pressed? First, press PROG and touch CO-1's button and make sure it still say CO-1. If not, dial 01 STORE and it will become CO-1 again.
Now, pick up the handset and hang it up so you clear the phone and press PROG 13 1 STORE PROG
It's pretty much phone system dependent on the one touch, but PROG F button, 9+number STORE usually works.
As far as the calling into IVR systems, you may have to press # to send touch tones after you dial a number, or adjust the tone length in programming. Of course not all systems let you change DTMF times, but that's another thread :-)
You must be on the main phone on jack 01 to set time. You can determine if your phone is jack 01 by pressing PROGRAM and then pushing the number 6 on the dial pad. The phone will read the jack and extension number. When you have determined the jack 01 phone, do the following.
1. Push PROGRAM key
2. Dial "0"
3. Enter year (last 2 digits)
4. Enter month (01-12)
5. Enter day (01-31)
6. Enter day of week (Sun 0, Mon 1, Tue 2, Wed 3, Thu 4, Fri 5, Sat 6.)
7. Enter Hour (01-12)
8. Enter Minute (00-59)
9. Press 0 for AM 1 for PM
10. Press "AUTO DIAL/STORE" key
11. Push PROGRAM key to return to normal mode.
