Thailand actually has three "CB" bands, the first is the same as the U.S. / CEPT (EU "European Community) band 26.965 - 27.405 MHz, the second is a 78MHz VHF mid CB band (I think its either 40 or 80 channels with FM mode) and then the 245.0000 - 245.9875 MHz VHF 80 channel band - apparently the law also stipulates that the 78MHz CBs must be yellow colored and the 245MHz CBs must be red colored.

But yeah, 245MHz Thailand VHF CBs are very illegal in the United States.

No, in the United States, the CB radio frequencies are from 26.965 to 27.405 MHz. Using a radio designed for Thailand CB is prohibited by federal law in the United States as these frequencies are alloted for other uses and interference would disrupt this. American CB frequencies may be illegal in Thailand.

The freq counter stays lit at 10.625mnz the claifier knob or the channel selecter will not change the freq counter

This problem, really need to be on a bench to test.. FREE at any good cb shop, to tell you what is wrong.... But most times when a freq counter is not working. Either the crystal is bad, poorly soldered, or its not receiving an input signal. Best way to test is to have a second freq counter external inline using coax.. and check the output of the radio and see if it shows correct or wrong. If it is showing correct they you internal freq counter is messed up. and needs to be check for a bad crystal or solder joints. sometimes even the voltage regulators go bad.. If it is showing a wrong freq on external counter then check the radio's crystal and oscillator circuit. this too can be as simple as a cold solder joint. on the solder side check the small surface mount diode near the PLL, next to the PLL shielded covers. It is normally black these come loose often times too. If you need more help feel free to call or text for more help.

Off freq on ssb TX.

Sideband freq

That is wrong , I used to have a freq. counter that only read when you applied RF to it on my old Tempo rig and I ran lower 37 and upper 35 so I would key the radio on am and tune the vfo to that frequency and would be on frequency with everone else,I remember hearing that once long ago but it's not true.

Frequency

You would have to replace several components on the board(requires alot of soldering and the parts needed are a little hard to come by) in order to change the output frequency ranges. It is alot of work to do this and is probably not worth all the work, Best advice I can give you is to replace it with an AM one and sell it.

Hope this helps

U mean on sideband? Frequency counter only useful on other than sideband operation. This does not mean the carrier insertion osc. is on frequency. If it needs adjustment, your voice will sound high/ low on transmit. Incoming signals will sound right after adjusting the osc.
