Possible that you have a EMI interferance in your circuit or power which carries into the set..Use the set in the battery mode and swtich off all the mains in your house. if this solves, then check on by one the connected appliances which might produce this static. You could also take the set to another location to see if this reduces off . in this case you will have to check if there is a lurking interferance from the power source. I suppose you might not get this faultt with the FM but MW and SW is bound to pick up the static unless the signal is powerful. Please also try to check your external cords, if possible change the location of the antennae. Further any fault on the radio IFT/filters could be considered. Hope my advice helps you . Good day

Ive retuned, re-set, unpluggest and plugged back in and i recieve no channeks still, been like this for months

What is your TV source? The Polaroid LCD-2000 only has a NTSC (analog) tuner. Most OTA stations switched to ATSC signals a few years ago and a converter box is required to watch the TV. (A few low power TV stations still broadcast in NTSC but you need to be fairly close to the transmitter to receive the channel.) If you have cable, check if they have migrated to digital cable (QAM for unencrypted channels). If that is the case, you'll need a cable box.

With a digital-to-analog OTA converter box, you can still lose station reception due to the signal strength cliff. Depending on your area, you may need an external antenna or to check the direction of the antenna. I know I have to rotate the outdoor antenna every so often. It shifts in high wind. Even if the antenna only moves 5 degrees, we will lose the signal for half of the stations.

I hope this helps.

Fm radio static solutions

yes if there's no antenna the cable should be stretch out towards outdoor and try to put the radio somewhere best static is out; other thing can be that the radio station is too far!

Radio static truck ground shield wire

There are a few things you can try. AM stations use a lower frequency than FM and that is why it picks up static.
You can unplug the small plug-in at the Alternator and then start the car. The charging system will be inoperative and you will trace the problem to the charging system. This does not mean it is only the Alternator, it could be a bad wire coming from a good Alternator.
Sometimes a Bench check of the Alternator will reveal this type of problem and sometimes it does not.
You also could just need a new Antenna. Unplugging the old unit and wire and using a new replacement for the antenna wire could solve the problem. This could be tested before needing to route the wire through the body. Just remove the radio, or unplug the installed antenna lead and temporarily plug-in a new antenna.
Hope this helps.

I can receive FM stations properly. I cannot receive AM stations at all. Only a static sound. I disconnected the AM antenna leads and used an Ohm Meter. The meter read full continuity when I touched...

you may be in an area where am stations don't come in,, am uses straight lines of frequency where FM uses a modulated signal, which travels much farther, I bought a antenna signal booster from radio shack for a few dollars , and was able to get the stations, some pretty static filled though, but the more local ones came in ok, another thing to check is that the unit is plugged into a grounded receptacle ,

I own a bose radio/cd (top load) with pedestal. Last night one lightning strike affected power in my home before I could get things disconnected. Now with everything reconnected, my radio FM and AM is very...

The tuner section may have been toasted by the power surge that affected your home. See if there is another option for an antenna connection and try that. If not, then it does not appear you have much choice.

U might want to contact Bose for an authorized factory repair station in your area.

SL100 static and bad FM reception

I have noticed various changes in my invehicle FM reception as well. There should be a external antenna that came with your car kit. This is precisely for these types of issues. It is designed to run along the windshield inside the car closest to the Cars radio antenna. It should plugin to the bottom of the cradle. Then tune it into a clean FM station (one that has no local station on it) and position the cradle and/or ext. antenna till you get the best reception in your vehicle. It could very well be that the antenna has come has loose on your car stereo backplane. You would probably notice decreased reception on regular AM/FM stations as well though.
Your wifi reception/functionality is a completely different animal and has no bearing on the FM transmitter in the car cradle. When your on wifi your not receiving signal from a sat. anymore just simply streaming internet audio like your computer.
Good luck.
