Date and time on my new watch do not change

I've tried everything, even returning the watch to the store for help. They told me to send it back to Timex. I can set the date to the proper number but it does not change as the days pass and the day feature can not be changed even by hand. No matter what position one uses n the winding knob. It is forever Tuesday the fourteenth. Any advice? Thanks. Diego

Mcdevito75 here, Sounds like part of the mechanism has broken in your Timex watch, and, if so too repair it may cost twice a new Timex watch, chances are this is why watch shops have told you to return the watch to Timex, and without a warrantee, even timex will charge for the repair. Ask the watch repair shop straight out if it pays to repair your watch, chances are no. Also you can try to contact Timex online at Timex watch.com or by phone.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I'm going to dig up the credit card receipt and take it back. I have another Timex that advertises 50 meter water resistance, I showered with it on and it's all steamed up. This will be it for me and Timex watches. Quality control seems to be lacking."

Just got a new Seiko watch but the date won't change automatically

Main cause would be that the date gear teeth have been stripped. This is done by setting the date whilst the hands are trying to change the date themselves (between 10pm and 2am). Always adjust the date with the hands around 6.0clock. You will need to return your watch to where you bought it for repair I'm afraid.

How can I change the day on the watch (timex model T2E581). I am able to change the date and time ok, but not the day. Thanks for the help.

When you pull the stem out all the way (two clicks) it should set the time. Pulling the stem out one click you noticed sets the date, you turn it one way for the date and in the same postion you turn it the other way for the day. For some reason on some watches the day will stick, if that still happens you will need to turn the hands around and around until you get to the right day, then keeping in mind the 12 hour interval you are in... set the date and time. If the day still does not change then you need to return the watch if its new or send it to timex! Caution: when sending a watch to Timex sometimes they send back a different watch without asking so if its sentimental do NOT send it to Timex!! Hope this helps! have a great day!

I can not seem to pull stem out of my analog timex wr 50 watch to set day and date. Only pulls out far enough to set time. This is the second watch that this has happened too. I returned the first one to...

most of the time with watches, there are two "pulls" on the stem to set the date and the time. normally, when you pull it out all the way, that's the setting for the time. so i think you've pulled it all the way out. try pushing it back in, then give the stem a soft pull. you'll feel about halfway, it stops a little bit. that should be the setting for the date.
i hope this helps

Skyhawk keeps reverting to year 2016 and date does

It is easier to just answer the question (escapement): Here is the solution:

Citizen will do the software update for free, but you will need to send it in. Call 1-800-321-1023 ext. 4345. I spoke with Claudia. They will send you an e-mail that your respond to with this info: Name, address, phone, e-mail. They will then send you a pre-paid airbill to send in your watch and return it to you when updated. It is free and will take less than 10 days.

Repair location in my area

Try AWCI.com for someone in your area. I recommend a good watchmaker even for a cell replacement, they will usually clean the case and band, do a consumption check, a min run voltage test and a water resistance test and new seals to keep watch fresh.

you're not supposed to change the time at certain times if it is an automatic. I think any time after 8pm and before 4am (but check your manual). Apparently it messes up the mechanism. Maybe that's the issue?

Not again . . .

Pushing all the buttons at the same time you resets the digital functions. You'll have to reset the time and date, but it will all work again. I don't know why the watch freezes up, but pushing all the buttons at least resets it. I like my watch and this quirk is an annoyance, but it's livable after finding this solution.
