I purchased a Quantum Turbo sc battery pack charger and I am using a Canon 5D along with the Quantum Turbo sc battery charger. Batteries fully charged. Connections are correct and fitted tightly. All equipment is on. It's not that if I am rapid firing but somehow I am getting a few flash misfires resulting in dark pictures. What gives?

If you have the camera on continuous then it may be that the charging is not keeping up with the shutter. Check the recycle time on the flash and compare with the burst speed on the camera. The burst speed on the 5D is fairly rapid.

SOURCE: Battery dies right away

You might want to try NON rechargeable batteries, particularly "digitally" rated alkalines. If this won't do it, I'd take it to get looked at.

SOURCE: I purchased a new Canon 580 EX II in July and have

Trust me I have this flash and I LOVE IT, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere, where did you buy it? Remember Canon gives you a full one year warranty BUT it must be the Canon USA and not Japan model....THAT is where it hurts! Read the fine print, it may be cheaper but that does not mean it will be better.

Even if you have lost your receipt Canon will have you on file, because you registered your Canon product, right??

If you need it fixed, I have the guy for you, but I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am sure you can call him on the phone and he can see if it's worth you having it shipped.

But FIRST CALL CANON they are awesome, and want you happy! And only buy B&H Photo.com they are amazing and NO SALES TAX for online

Keep us posted!

Where do I find the AC Charger adapter for a Godox PB820S Propac. I have look online and can not find the charger for this battery pack.

If you still have the 12V car adapter it ships with, you can buy a 12V supply with a cigarette lighter connector and use that .

You could try contacting their main distributor who lists the complete device :http://www.lightinthebox.com/godox-pb820-backup-external-battery-pack-for-speedlite-vsp-136265_p995394.html , but does not list the charger alone.

Failing the distributor, try contacting the factory. They offer direct contact for support ([email protected]),including skype chat ([email protected] for MSN/skype).

Adorama sells the "Flashpoint" series of devices which seem to be relabeled versions of Godox products, but only sell the 960 larger power pack not the 820.

I read that the 820 DIN cable connector is compatible with Quantum cables. That *might* mean that one of the Quantum chargers *might* work for you, as those use a DIN connector for some of the rechargeable Quantum batteries. I once adapted a wall adapter for charging a Quantum battery pack and used a DIN connector. Unfortunately the Quantum chargers are expensive and there are a number of different models,so it may be difficult to figure out what will work for yo.

I would not say they are not defected, but I think they are not getting fully charged. I have the same problem with my battery once I have used it all day and the red light comes on from the fuel gauge. I have the P104 battery. Trouble with my Canon 5D

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Quantum Turbo Battery pack not enough power.

Load 4AA with Energizer Lithium Batteries.
Set 580EX II's function to 12-0 and 05-0.
Make sure 5D's is not set to HSS.
No white dome parked on flash.
No bounce.
Set camera to "M" with max sync if you like, but 60 is fine.
Set F-Stop no greater than F5.6
Set ASA/ISO no lower than 200 but not over 1000.

If you need more assistance, contact Alzo Digital, CT, USA.
Asks for service & repair from ATG.

Sunpak 622 Recycle Time w/ Batteries vs AD-26

I had the same problem - 10-11 secs on 240VAC. My solution was to get the Quantum Turbo SC for $450. It yields ~3sec recycle times. This pack for $150 should play nicely as well: http://www.adorama.com/JTMBPN.html?searchinfo=jtl+lancer+battery+pck It was out of stock at the time. The Sunpak TR2000 is $250, but it's Ni-Cd while the others are NiMH. There are other HV packs capable of powering the 622 w/ the fitting cable like Lumedyne IIRC. The AD-26 is still useful for non-action photography. The fastest time I saw posted is 1.5 secs, but it's a DIY job (search 'sunpak 622' on flickr). HTH,
Szilard
