Our oven only gets hot enough to cook every once in a while, and when we turn it on it smells very strongly of gas. The pilot light is on under the oven. Please help!!!
Most of these new fangled gas stove feature a silicone carbide ignitor to light the oven. Older stoves used a standing pilot light. As silicone carbide ignitor age a little they tend to get weak and fail to open the gas safety vave sufficiently enough for ignition. Take a look
