I've downloaded hours of music onto a 2 GB SD card. I've viewed the files on My computer. The player will only play the first 3 songs over and over again. How do I get it to play all of them?
Possible that the files have been saved inthe wrong way. If you have them again in the PC , delete off all the files you had sent, format th device or erase off all files, scan for any virus in the device before loading back the music files with the PROPER METHOD OF COPY AND SAVE, USE THE RECOGNISED PROGRAM for the ipod- the ones the songs are playing presently. MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. As far as I know, there is no direct way to download music onto your DSi. In order to listen to songs on your DSi, you will first need to copy the songs you want to listen to onto a compatible SD or SDHC card. Not all songs are compatible with the DSi. Some songs may be copy protected and will not work. The DSi is compatible with AAC audio files with a filename extension of .m4a, .mp4, or .3gp.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- A compatible SD or SDHC Card. The DSi is compatible with SD cards up to 2 GB and SDHC cards up to 32 GB.
- Compatible music files stored on a PC or MAC.
- An SD Card slot in the PC or MAC, or an external reader/writer
WHAT TO DO
1. Insert the card into the slot.
2. Open Windows Explorer (for PC) or Finder (for Mac) and select the drive being used by the card to open it.
3. Open another instance of Windows Explorer or Finder and navigate to where the music is stored.
4. Highlight the desired file(s) and/or folders, copy them, and then paste them into the first instance of Windows Explorer or Finder to create copies on the card.
If you need to convert the format of your music files, there are many freeware applications available to download on the web. I personally would suggest using iTunes, as it has a built in AAC converter.

2)after completing step 1, go 2 my computer nd open the SD card up,create new folder or use da one u used 4 ur other music.

P.S. make sure u converted ur songs 2 AAC(aac) or else it wont work.
There are 3 ways to solve your problem, but all of them are rather kludgy. This is an old player and the integration of the microSD card is not done very well. I believe with the newer players these sorts of issues are not problems. Anyway, here are your 3 possibilities:
1) You can load your music directly onto the card before you put it into the player. Most cards come with an adapter that lets them fit into slots that are for regular SD cards. So if your computer has a slot for an SD card (or if not, you can plug the card into a card reader and then plug the card reader into the USB port on your computer) then you can copy and paste mp3 files onto the card. This is a drag because you can't use Windows Media Player to do this, but instead need to open the folder where the MP3 files are and then copy and paste them onto the card. But it works
2) This is slightly easier. Before you connect the Sansa player to the computer go to the settings part of the main menu and then select mode. You should see two choices. One is MTP and this is the setting you want if you are using the player with Rhapsody service. The other setting is MSC and this lets your computer recognize the Sansa player AND the microSD card. Once you have selected the MSC mode, then you can connect the player to your computer. When you look at the drives on your computer, you'll see 2 new drives. One is the Sansa 280 and the other is the microSD card. Once you see those, you can copy and past MP3 files right onto the card (and/or onto the Sansa). Again, you have to go the folder where your MP3 files live and cannot use WMP to do this
3) I haven't tried this, but others say that a free program called rockbox (www.rockbox.org) let's all this work much better. It sounds complicated, as it puts kind of a new operating system on your Sansa and it may not be reversible, so proceed with caution, but some people love it.

i JUST bought this phone, and got very frustrated trying to download music into the music player. Drag and drop your music files from your pc into your "my music" folder. They DO NOT show up right away, this is why i got pissed. I figured I was doing something wrong. I had the card in my phone, and my phone plugged into the usb port. They finally showed up on my phone after I took the card out and put it back in. As far as saving them for ringtones, I am pretty pissed that I can't do it. I am thinking Metro wants us to pay for them. That is such b&*%$#*!
cect p168c won't play mp3 music that has been loaded onto SD Card. Shows to be in the phone under file manager my music. When you try to play it. Shows to be an empty play list.
you may want to try downloading only those that didn't download the first time. Sometimes when you try to download a large file (all the songs) it causes the "error message" you talk about. You may want to delete files already downloaded, or save the files downloaded to a different file folder, and try the download again.
You cannot just move WMA songs onto the card and play in the MP3 player. MP3 format may work this way, but for sure the player only seems to be able to recongize WMA files when syncd through Windows Media with the USB cord attached. Be sure the DESELECT 'copy folder hierecy' under the sync options/properties of the MP3 player drive or SD card drive.
When using XP Pro and Windows Media Player you can transfer WMA but you have to go into the PROPERTIES of the drive (mine was mp-556/G: drive) and DESELECT the option to transfer folder hierecy. The MP3 player is not able to reconginize the folder structure it usually creates.
This player only seems to be able to transfer MP3 format with Vista, using windows media player sync. I can syne MP3s formats, but not WMAs at all. Unless someone found otherwise
Very Simple Solution. I have the same phone.
First you need a Data Cable that connects your phone to a USB port on your PC.
Secondly, go to http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/support/software/html/mp3_software.html
and download the mp3 loader.
Its very easy to use. good luck.
