Transcend 320GB is recongized as "unformatted"

This dilemna happens frequently, especially with machines running Windows 8. Recently, I had 2 hard drives that just randomly show as RAW disks. It sounds like you have important data you need to salvage, but ultimately, the drive will need to be reformatted in order to once again work with your operating system.
You have two options to recover your data:
1. Download a linux based operating system called UBUNTU

It can be installed on a disc, and run entirely off the disk without affecting your computer. Magically, Linux operating systems struggle less with accessing difficult drives. You may be able to simply run Ubuntu off of the cd, plug in your drive and simply copy and paste the important data onto a different backup media.
Option 2:
Download EASEUS recovery tool for free.

Using this program, you can scan the disk for bad sectors, and you can set the program to repair the disk, making it accessible. Even after, the disk may show as a group of scattered disorganized folders, but you should be able to find the information, move it to another media and then re-format for a brighter future.

There are two possible
1. Damage to partition table
2. Damage to firmware

Probably dead disk. My, the same type is replaced today since was in guarantee. The guy in service when I answered on his question about symptoms: "very slow responce, often need to format, etc", just said: "it's dead, need to be replaced". And they did.

Hi. If you here some clicking noise then your external hard drive might be busted already.

Try to contact a local tech and see if he can still pull out your data from there.

it is difficult to recover it from that partition..use this software
"Recover My Files" if it is recover then ok otherwise use "Virtual Lab"
if it is not again recoverable then noway to recover. after all efforts one thing u can do is to quick format it and then try recover my files to recover from fast formated drive....but chances r very less something like wallpapers and songs can be recover.

Tru connecting to a different computer. If you have a driver provided with your Hdd, try installing it first.

do you have important files in it? then try to reformat it.
