Ammonia smell from rv refrigerator. Not working. Can it be repaired? If so, how?
I suggest u take ur rv ammonia refrigerator to ur rv dealer for a replace.. ammonia leaking can result in serious injuries, in tight places...
Refrigerators work on a closed tank ammonia system if you smell an odor the tank system must be replaced.
It's easy: go on the internet and look up rv amonia tank replacements when the system arrives; just unscrew and, pull out the styrofoam box that is your "refrigerator" remove the tank system stick the new system on the back of the refrigerator box where the old one was; reinstall the box; be sure to: remove a 3 foot twisted 1 inch wide metal strip from the old refrigerator open pipe that vents to the outside roof and, reinstall it in your "new" refrigerator. cost is about a hundred dollars for the new ammonia unit.
