Wrong. To bypass the lockout feature so you can see the DVD play anytime - you need to toggle the green wire away from ground (from Low to High - i.e. momentary switch) so the radio sees the rising edge of the 12Vdc signal. The green wire is normally high and is tied low. When you put the parking break on - it opens the loop.

A switch will trigger the Opto Isolator inside the head and bypass the lock out feature. This works fine - or you can spend the $25 on the bypass module - that does the same thing - but works as an electronic toggle ~ based off the remote wire and an internal relay in the module. The module will toggle the green wire every time the radio powers up.
