I have a Crown XLS 602 amp. I use it for my home stereo system..It is stored in a well ventilated cabinet with a cloth grill front. There is nothing under or on top of amp...I don't listen to my music real loud and can still hear the cooling fans run..Can I disconnect the cooling fans..This amp never seems to be even close to warm.I could add an external switch to run the fans for high output applications.

I would not recomend disconnecting the fans. They might be running to keep a certain heat sensitive (and perhaps expensive) part cool. However it could be the case that the fan speed control circuit has developed a fault, therefore the fans are running too fast.

I have a Crown XLS 802 amp that works fine but the fans do not work. They, however, are not frozen. Any help is appreciated. Jim

It is capable of detecting cooling fan failure so I would presume it hasn't decided to engage the fans yet.

My crown 602 xls tripped a breaker, I reset breaker regained power to receptacle , I lost power to the amp no led's come on front when i pushed the small reset button on the back I still did not regain...

They use a breaker instead of a fuse.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Crown-XLS-602-Amps-manual/id/19050ci763/t/2/

CONDITION: No

power to the amplifier.

POSSIBLE REASON:

• The amplifier's Power switch is off.

• The amplifier is not plugged into the power receptacle.

• The amplifier's high-voltage power supply circuit breaker has tripped. Verify that the AC mains

voltage is correct, then press the Circuit Breaker button on the back panel.

Take it to the ER.

I have a crown 602 channel 2 shows signal coming in, but no volume comes out. Yet when its bridge it seems to put out more power than just one chanel. Not sure where to start looking into the #2 channel...

Common problem. Power transistor in channel#2 is weak or out completely.
Bridging converts from 2 channel(stereo) to mono and you are are useing both channels in series to effectivley double your output.

No power to Crown XLS 602 Amplifier

Hi...

There may be some internal fuses on that unit.

You can open it by taking the cover off and looking for fuses and discolored parts.

It may have a thermal fuse on the power transformer which then will require service

Check the web for service people in the UK

There is a red light shinig inside my CROWN XLS

Lots of electronics have lights (LEDs) that turn on when they are plugged it. Most people just don't notice them. If it is working properly, then the light is normal.

Left channel not operating on crown xls 602

Every time i have this prob i've blown that channel. In my case i,ve had dodgy connections to my speakers and if it is operating with high voltage rails they don't take much to blow.
Take off cover and you will no doubt find fuses somewhere blown. If it has come from speakers you prob done the amp but if not you might be lucky and just have to replace a single fuse or so.Good luck,Paul

The fault light immediately comes on my Crown XLS 602 power amp immediately upon turning it on. It will not go out?

Hi try disconnecting the speaker outs and turn off bridge (if its on) If it doesnt work still, then suggest direct to a crown agent. The amp has a 3 year no fault warranty. Hopefully its still in!

All the best
