Mcdevito75 here, You may need to start your watch by pressing the MODE button. Most quartz watches will stop once you"ve changed the battery, of course the possibility is there that the watch quartz has burnt out also. See a small watch repair shop in your area.

Changing batteries on a Casio G-Shock Cockpit watch

Those batteries are compatible. The reset isn't working right. You may need to send the watch in, or take it to a repair shop that is familiar with that watch. You can probably find one in any large mall...

Have fitted a new battery but no joy, any tips I can try?

mcdevito75 here, Some quartz watches and I believe Citizen is on of which need the exact factory number battery installed / replaced. if you did use the exact battery number and the new battery is not working, remove the battery and carefully clean the battery contacts with a Q-tip and rubbibg alchohol do not soak the battery contacts just clean them. Also your new battery could be dead, who knows how long it was on the store shelf. Alaso wipe off any oil from your fingers on the new battery before you install it in the watch, make sure the battery is seated correctly in the watch, the back cover may also have to be installed back onto the watch to complete the battery circut for the watch to work. If all this fails you can try to contact Citizen online, Contact CitizenWatch.com and get their recommended battery size for your watch, OR, look for a small watch repair shop in your area. One Last thing, Your Citizen watches Quartz mechanism could also have gone bad, in this case you"ll need a new watch.

I am trying to replace the battery in my watch; I've put the new battery in, but the watch has not restarted. What should I do next

I've had the exact same problem on my Wenger Standard Issue. I tried installing a new battery, with the result being a watch that didn't move. Then it sat for 13 years. I decided to give it one last try. I installed a new battery and, again, no movement. This may sound stupid, but I pulled the stem out, installed the battery and pushed in the stem. Works fine now.

The hands don't work?

Check out if you have two batteries in your watch - one for LED display, another for analog movement.
If there is only one battery, your watch has a mechanical fault and you will need help of a watchmaker.

Rate, please.

I put in new battery using Casio instructions but still does not work. Touched battery and ac with tweezers for a few seconds, nothing happened?

Make sure your new battery is not flat and on full power. Sometimes batteries are not fully charged as they discharge over the time and as they are stocked in large quantities, some of them get discharged even they are sold as brand new.
When replacing battery in your watch, make sure you keep the right polarity. Plus and minus must match appropriate contacts. After replacement connect AC and plus side of the battery at once for 2-3 seconds - this will reactivate watch and you will need to set the watch manually.
If you did all this and your watch don't work at all, there is some fault in watch mechanics and you have to look for watchmakers help.

Brand new watch won't work

Check your users manual if your watch have two batteries. If yes, you need to replace digital part battery.
If your watch has only one battery, your digital screen or plate is defective. Bring it back to the retailer and ask to replace for the decently working watch.
But first of all try to fiddle with all pushbattons- sometimes it helps.

After putting the caseback back on, press all four buttons simultaneously to reset the watch. This worked for me.
