Are you trying to open the router setup page? Make sure that your computer is connected to the router on LAN port. Check the IP address on the computer and Default gateway. Default gateway is the IP address on your router.

Fine@yahoo.comI need drivers to install Linksys wireless G2.4,54mbps broadband router modelwrt54g v8.2

Hi, I understand that you would like to re-configure your Linksys WRT54G v8.2 Router and for that you need the setup CD.

There are no drivers required for the router. You don't need any setup disk. Simply connect to 192.168.1.1 with username blank, and input your password (might be admin). Now configure your router manually.

How to Configure:

If your service provider is Cable then follow the weblink below

http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=4572

If your service provider is DSL then follow the weblink below:

http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=3687

Thanks,
Shiva

Can not connect to internet wireless Installed Linksys but did not work. tried to install again, ask for default info. dont know how to reset router to default settings.

Default settings for the WRT54G can be performed by pressing the
reset button for at least 10 seconds and then release it.

The router can be accessed by opening internet explorer:
type in adres http://192.168.1.1 and enter.
The login for the router default settings is:
user: [leave blank]
password: admin

There are about 10 versions for this type router on the Linksys
support site, "Get Downloads" like manual and firmware :

Note: from the support page select your version first

No Installation CD

No it's not needed, the main things you need to know is the IP address that the router is set to and it's login details which hopefully your friend can give you. (default IP: 192.168.1.1, default login and password: admin and admin)

After that, as long as your HS Internet modem has an ethernet port you would connect that to the Linksys and your PC's to the routers LAN ports. You can then also login to the router and setup the wireless part if you have any wireless devices to use with it.
