Remove the cables from the gateway router to the switch to leave only the uplink cable or connection to your telephone socket.
Test connectivity by plugging your laptop or computer directly in to the gateway router and test web access using an Ethernet cable.
Your laptop /computer may need to be rebooted for new ip. If ok reattach the unmanaged switch a retry by attaching the Ethernet cable to one of the ports on the switch. If ok, this limits the problem to the access point.
The main problem is that you have two layer 3 devices connected together by a layer 2 switch.
The solution would be to retain the configuration on the gateway if all ok. Change the access point to a different sub net and SSID to the gateway router.
If you can shut down the broadcasting from the gateway as all WLAN will be done through the access point.
Ensure that DHCP and DNS is switched on, on the gateway router.
All computers should be configured to use the gateway router address as this will allow the gateway to provide routing across the network.

How can I connect to my D-Link AP 3200

Hi There,
When you connect to the AP, does it ask for a Username and Password?
Username: admin
Password: "Blank"
Are you connecting to 192.168.0.50?
Are your Computer Settings correct for that IP Connection?
You would want to set you Computer with Static IP settings:

IP: 192.168.0.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.50
DNS: 8.8.8.8

Do hope this helps!

How do I set up the ecb350 as a repeater. I have an xfinity wifi that doesn't reach the whole house but I can connect with an Ethernet cable to the back of the ECB350 out in the area I need wifi acce

What are you using for your main router (xfinity wifi)? The best way is to set the ecb350 in AP Router Mode not a repeater since you have a rj45 cable long enough to go from one of the ports on the xfinity wifi router and hook it into the ecb350. You will need to know what your ip address range is for example if the xfinity is 192.168.1.1 then you want to assign a static address for the ecb350 to be 192.168.1.100 (assigned IP Address) You will also need the Subnet mask, Default Gateway IP Address, and Primary DNS and Secondary DNS of the xfinity wifi router. Then on the ecb350 you will need to configure the following with the info you go off the xfinity router:

Static IP Internet Connection Type Select Static IP to begin configuration of the Static IP connection. Account Name Leave Blank Domain Name Leave Blank MTU Auto IP Address ie: 192.168.1.100 (assigned IP Address) IP Subnet Mask Specify the subnet mask of your Xfinity Router Gateway IP Address Specify the gateway of your Xfinity Router Primary DNS Specify the primary DNS server's IP address of your Xfinity Router Secondary DNS Specify the secondary DNS server's IP address of your Xfinity Router Discard Ping on WAN Check to Enable to recognize pings on the ECB350 WAN interface or Disable to block pings on the ECB350 WAN interface. Note: Pinging IP addresses is a common method used by hackers to test whether the IP address is valid. Blocking pings provides some extra security from hackers. Accept / Cancel Click Accept to confirm the changes or Cancel to cancel and return previous settings. Note: Clicking Accept does not apply the changes. To apply them, use Status > Save/Load Hope that this help you.

TALKING ABOUT THE ACCESSING THE IP ADDRESS ON THE DWL-2000A,I DON'T THINK I UNDERSTAND THE SOLUTION TO THE CONNECTION BECOS THERE IS ONLY ONE LAN PORT ON THE AP WHICH ONE CAN CONNECT TO THE MODEM. SO IF...

To connect the AP directly to your PC you sould need a "crossed" LAN cable.

On you PC you need to set a IP Address of the same subnet of DWL-2000AP (defaul IP is 192.168.0.50) like 192.168.0.xxx

To set IP address on you PC: goto LAN devices, click properties on your LAN, scroll down and select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", click properties, now set followingIP address:

IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.50

Confim clicking OK OK OK...

Now you can access you devices tipyng http://192.168.0.50 on your prefered browser. Default login is "admin" as username and empty password.

Let me upate.

How to access Dlink Set up page ?

You must be in the same subnet as your device in order to configure it. If you are in the 192.168.1.0 subnet, change your IP address on your computer to the 192.168.0.0 subnet. Assign yourself a static in that subnet with the last octet between 1 and 254, but not 50. I use 192.168.0.250, but any unused IP address in that subnet will do. Once you are in the same subnet, you should be able to reach your AP. If you still can't get to the http interface, then go to plan B: Your access point came with a CD: D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G AP Manager that provides an alternate client interface. You can setup security and change the password, and SSID using the client interface software if your http connection does not do it for you. Once you change your IP to the 192.168.1.0 subnet (which I assume you intend as it sounds like that is your LAN subnet), give the AP the gateway address of your router's IP address, and change your IP address back to whatever it was on your computer.

D-link dwl 2000AP

Turn on your AP and push reset button for 30 seconds with pen or any small things (little hole between the antena connector and RJ-45 LAN connector).

Set your laptop IP or PC that you will use to set the AP to 192.168.0.55 subnet 255.255.255.0 Then open your web browser, connect your PC Ethernet to AP Ethernet, remove any proxy setting from your browser temporary, and type 192.168.0.50 enter.
Username is: admin password: none (leave it blank).

Hi, assuming you are running WinXP, you might want to try: 1) right click on your wireless networking icon and click repair; or 2) double click on the same icon; click on properties, scroll down to/click TCP/IP to highlight, click on properties - Tick Obtain an IP address automatically if your access point is also acting as DHCP server; or 3) get IP add + others from your Network Admin and entered numbers given; or 4) self-assign IP numbers that are pretty near your Access Point (AP) IP #s, maybe something like 192.168.1.3 where your AP is 192.168.1.1, subnet mask should be the same as your AP (normally 255.255.255.0 but may be different) and your default gateway normally would be the IP Add of your AP (192.168.1.1 or whatever the AP is using) DNS could be obtained from your ISP or tick obtain automatically. Caution here that the IP number you select should not be currently in use in your network. 5) Open IE, go to tools/internet option/connection, remove any dial-up if no longer needed and check never dial a connection (assuming you don’t use a modem and would connect normally via wireless. Go to/Click LAN settings, check auto detect settings, make sure Proxy server is uncheck. 6) Ping any website from your command prompt to see if you get a response If all else fail, pls post your AP hardware (brand/model), OS. It might also be a good idea to check if your AP is connected to an ISP with an active account and that your modem is working ok. Please let me know if this works out ok for you. Cheers.
