Wired remote bass control knobs

Hello, I bought a Clarion (MCD 360) crossover used and it works great. the only thing is it did not come with a wired remote bass control knob. you know the one you can mount on your car dashboard. I would like to know if the bass control knobs are interchangeable, universal. what I mean is can I use a wired bass control knob from a different co. other than Clarion. I have seen those bass control knobs on ebay and other places. the wireing looks the same to me. the telephone cord type with the telephone type connector on the wire.

I'm wanting to know the same thing... But be careful on the pin out of the control you get.

I have an audiobahn 2300HCQ amp... Before I had the 1800. The 1800 came with a remote with 6pin remote cord. I got the 2300 used and did not get a control for it. The plug on the 2300 is a 4 pin plug... I can't figure out how to cross it over correctly to get the 1800 remote to work on the 2300.

I have tools to crimp an end... Just can't figure out the color pin out.

Mtx tna251 amp has bass remote that has a light glowing but turn knob up and down and no difference like simply not working no difference in bass? Posible causes,

It is actually in the controller, if you turn the remote all the way down and press on the controller until the bass goes off, you will be able to turn the bass up and down with the remote, mine worked but stopped after a month, I tried adjusting the amp but then I noticed that if I wiggled the knob on the remote that it would work, I mashed mine until it worked again and velcroed it to my console sonibcan get it on and off easily.

I dont have the blast port wire and it wont play.where can i find the wire?

  • BLAST Port (Bass Level And Signal Transfer) Provides Remote Bass Level Control and control signal transfer between multiple SX amplifiers

  • Here is the manufacturer's accessory page to the remote: http://www.kicker.com/zxrc

Here is one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-2010-10-ZXRC-AMP-AMPLIFIER-REMOTE-BASS-CONTROL-/360328112100?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e53aa7e4

And here is a note from Kicker on how to make a control yourself for strapping multiple amps together: I have two or more Kicker SX or KX subwoofer amplifiers. I don' t want to use all those separate bass level controls. Is there a way to make them all work with a single Kicker control knob?
Yes. You can visit your local Radio Shack or home improvement store and purchase an RJ-11 modular adapter. You then plug the sub level cables from the individual amplifiers into the adapter. Then run a cable from the adapter to a single Kicker remote knob. All amps will now work with a single knob.

They also try to play the bass

a crossover cuts the certain tones out of the sound.example: the high side cuts out low and mid tones,or the mid side cuts out high and low. The only problems this could be is that the crossover is not set right or not wired right. These speakers should be plugged into the high side of the crossover. If wired right and set right then your crossover is no good.

Less bass to main speakers divert it to sub

You can buy aftermarket crossovers that will reduce or eliminate bass frequencies to some or individual speakers. They are wired in line with the speakers in question, ususally right before the speaker itself and tucked away inside the door.

    Wired bass control knob

Not all controls are the same. Manufacturers use various schemes to control the level of the audio. If you use a control that's wired improperly, you risk damaging your amp.
