How to lift saw blade. My saw is many your old and bought for another. I now need to use it but do not know how to lift cutting blade

The bed moves down so that less blade shows on a skill saw. The locking lever is usually between the blade guard and the handle. Look for a lever and pull it up to unlock, then move the bed down to expose less blade, then push the lever down to lock the bed in place. Please supply a picture of the saw you are using.

How do I change the saw blade on my 2 hp 7 1/4 saw?

If the saw doesn't have a locking mechanism for changing the blade then you will have to jam a piece of wood in the teeth of the blade so that it cannot turn. Remember safety first. Ensure the saw is unplugged and wear leather gloves when changing the blade. Use a socket or wrench to loosen the nut that holds the blade on and remove the blade. Use the reverse procedure to tighten the blade.

How do I install the blade on a bosch cs10 circular saw

Their web site seems to be down at the moment but most circular saw you just need to lock the blade somehow. Sometimes putting the blade up against a piece of wood so it can't turn will get the job done. Unplug the saw so it can't run. Some saws come with a custom wrench to turn a custom bolt, others a regular combination wrench would work. There should be a bolt that goes into the center of the blade. To keep the bolt from coming out while cutting, they are reverse threaded so you loosen it by turning the bolt the reverse direction you on a normal bolt. take the bolt out and be careful you don't loose the washers on each side of the blade. Put in new blade and reverse the process of taking it apart.

Have an old Black and Decker 7321 Skill Saw. Bought it used. Cant figure out how to change the blade. Help

With the saw UNPLUGGED, check around the base of the motor shaft, there should be some kind of button that you can depress to lock the blade from turning. Then with the appropriate sized wrench, turn the blade locking bolt clockwise (it is a backward thread) to loosen it. Then simply remove the washers, etc carefully and replace them the same way they came off. If there is no locking button, you can use a scrap piece of wood on the saw table and push down on the blade to lock it in place.

Just bought Skill Saw 5150 with no blade and bought a 7 1/2'' blade and the saw has a wrench but can't find anyway to lock to undo the nut so I can replace the blade. I pulled on trigger and held it but...

hello I can help you. Look carefully around the housing that surrounds the blade and you will find a small lock button. Push it in and rotate the blade until it locks. Then apply the wrench.

I have a ms 150 miter saw that a relative gave me. Blade needs to be changed but the locking mechanism is stripped. How can I remove the bolt that holds the blade in place. Also the blade turns clockwise...

Jam a piece of wood between the blade and the table to stop it from turning while loosening the bolt. Circular saws never had locking mechanisms until recent years.

Where is the lock button for the skill saw circular saw model 5150. were trying to get the blade back on and the motor just turns when we turn the screw?

I can't seem to access the parts view for your model, because of its age.
But I'm thinking skil probably hasn't changed things all that much.
Take a look at the 5450 and see if this doesn't help any...click here ...and scroll to page 7.
