Whirlpool Ultimate care II Washer Agitator not turning

The part you need is FSP# 80040 dog kit goes inside the upper agitator. installing them dawgs: You sit the agitator on the floor, put you feet on the base and snatch the top portion off of the bottom. You put all the dogs back in the cam set them up into the upper portion with a piece of pvc pipe or equivilent and invert onto the base, lining up the tabs on the bottom with the holes in the upper portion being careful not to smash the tabs on the base that hold the upper portion onto the agitator. Snap it all into place and gently re-install it being careful not to over tighten the nut. Watch this video:

NEED TO REPLACE YOUR AGITATOR "DOGS", YOU WILL NEED A 7/16" SOCKET WITH EXTENSION TO TAKE TOP NUT OFF AND PULL AGITATOR OUT

first you remove the cap on top of the agitator then you remove the inner cap then you use a long extension with a 7/16 socket to remove the bolt the agitator will pull right up

Remove the fabric softner cup. Remove cover underneath it by pulling up on it. It just snaps in and has a seal on it. Remove the bolt and lift up the upper agitator. You will need to get an agitator repair kit from an appliance parts store. It has seals for bolt and cap,.thrust washer for the botttom of upper agitator , cam dogs and a new holder and plate. Be sure to take the model number with you.

Is this a two piece agitator? You may just need dogs, they are inside the agitator. Rotate the top of the agitator back and forth, top should engage the bottom portion when turning counter clockwise.

You need to get an agitator repair kit from the appliance parts store. Number ap3138838 This has a new thurst washer that will fix the loose upper agitator. Remave cap under fabric dispenser, it pulls up and you will see bolt. This kit also has cam parts to repair the worn ones on upper agitator too. Take model number to the store with you.

change your agitator dogs in agitator

Your level switch hose has come loose.first open the display panel to check in back of water level switch,and look for a hose that is not attached to the back of it.
