My Kenmore 80 series washer also won't do the last spin. After the wash, I just put it back on the spin cycle and then it works. Lately I have had a bad mold smell coming from the washer. Anyone have any ideas?

Try eserviceinfo.com/index as per your 80 series. There are various downloads there that may help access the water level sensor which is most likely the problem.
The lid switch is probably out. Bypass it and see if she magically comes to life. Their are 3 wires to the lid switch 2 of which are live wires. Jumper them 2 live wires and see if she runs in spin.
check to make sure the belt hasn't come off. if it's direct drive make sure the shaft is working and moving freely. if all of these check out the motor that turns everything my be stuck, frozen up or just bad all together.
Try the 'drain' portion of a few of the other cycles (heavy, perm. press, delicates) and see if it will drain/spin there. You can also try advancing the timer slowly through the 'spin' portion to see if it kicks in anywhere.
If it will rinse and spin in the other cycles, you most likely have a bad timer.
