Whirlpool electric oven not heating (has a functional stove top)

I have an approximately 3-5 year old (I recently purchased the home) Whirlpool (model #RF111pxsq)oven that will not longer heat. It worked fine the night before and now neither the oven nor the broiler element will heat. The stove top works fine. It is a very simple stove with dials and not a digital screen. When you turn the dial to operate the oven the "oven heating" indicator light will not light either. Oven light does work however. Any guesses?

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric range model # RF261PXSQ oven not heating

I'm afraid you may have a blown Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. The EOC controls all the functions of the oven. The surface elements are controlled by individual infinite switches behind each control knob.. That's why the surface elements all work, but the oven does not. A replacement EOC can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and you will find it under the "Control Panel Parts" heading as item number 12. There are several listed, based upon the color you need (White, Biscuit, and Black). This is a very simple repair that any do-it-yourselfer can accomplish if you wish to perform this on your own. All you have to do is UNPLUG the appliance and remove the back panel of the console to access.

Before assuming the EOC is defective, however, inspect the board to see if it has a fuse on it. I do not have a wiring diagram to confirm. Some of these boards do have fuses and that's all that it may take to repair it. However, if the board shows signs of burned components, replace it. NOTE: Check for any loose connectors to the board as well.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you have questions and/or require additional assistance.

My oven and stove top isn't working at all. If I turn a burner on, the clock and oven light up, but the burner doesn't get hot and either does the oven. It's only 8 years old and isn't used often.

I was having this problem and it was because I had tripped the breaker. Reset the breaker (box Inside your home) and try that, However, there is probably an underlying electrical problem that should be fixed asap. I live in an older remodeled mobile home that isn't equipped to handle a lot of appliances going at the same time. Try to make sure you aren't pulling so much power when you use the stove, ex: TV, microwave, oven, stove, all running at the same time.

Hotpoint self cleaning oven won't heat

maybe a bad connection with the heating element. Check to make sure bottom element is pluged in all the way. May need to be replaced if anything looks strange (ie. burnt spot, hole, srrange color, or maybe no external sign)

Gas Range has inconsistent gas flow

From what you've described and what I understand; the only part that requlates the gas flow "low or intermitten gas flow/pressure" is the "gas pressure regulator" located where the incoming gas flex-line connects directly.

The pressure regulator is about 3" x 3" metal square blockish' type device and can be replaced fairly easy. However, if and when replacing the pressure regulator, ensure you are using the proper gas - yellow teflyon tape of pipe dope paste to thread in the new part.

What is the model number of the range? (free standing - gas pilot only)

(The above suggestion is assuming you have the proper gas supply pressure to your home/range)
