Sylvania 15 inch digital/analog LCD TV HDTV. Once

Sylvania 15 inch digital/analog LCD TV HDTV. Once connected to the cable box so we could get high def channels - unable to view the high def channels. Cable guy said connection not available. None of the codes for sylvania model tVs enable the universal remote provided by the cable company to use the box. Have to control on/off and volume with TV remote; channels are controlled by cable box remote.

Try doing the auto search method on the cable remote. sometimes this works when the codes do not. if it doesn't then it is what it is.

No analog stations on my hdtv 37 inch, have no digal box just regular cable, regular cable works on normal tv

Try an antenna if you want to get analog over the air. I have a feeling that with the way the standards are changing, you will only be able to get digital channels. After February, the analog channels won't be around.

If you are using cable tv you need an HDTV box to get high def.
