it is a physical brocken piece that supports scanner mechanism.
if you open that plate /scanner mechanism and if you drill that plastic sheet and try some manufactureed alluminium or metal projection and place it in the hole drilled by you and put washer and screew so that that supports ;the scanner mechanism and your scanner /printer works . the scanner mechanism may costs you around 3,000-00 rupees.

Try your old toner cartridge. If it still shows the same msg, the 16v Capacitor on the Density PCA is bad. You could replace the Density PCA or the Cap on the board. The Cap is very common in the computer motherboards & some IO Cards.

Scanner error 12 on hp laserjet m1005
When the lid or door of an HP Laser Jet printer isn't properly closed, the printer's display will read "Error 12." You can usually correct an "Error 12" by closing the printer's door securely -- a process which may require that you first fix the orientation of a toner cartridge so that the door can close. In some instances, an "Error 12" appears due to some other issue, such as a missing toner cartridge or a defective paper-feeding component.

Hi,


When you get error 12 in your unit try to uninstall the software of your scanner and reinstall it again. Also check your cables for loose contacts.This will eliminate the problem.
