Freezing up and bucket not filling

Hi,

The coils you see on the back of your dehumidifier are the evaporator. When the unit runs, the coils get very cold. As the fan draws the room air over the coils, the humidity in the air condenses out of the air onto the cold coils. But, if the temperature of the air the fan draws over the coils is too cool, the humidity that condenses out of the air freezes on the coils. To remedy this problem, you can try any of these: Warm up the room the dehumidifier is in. Put the dehumidifier on a sturdy table (the room air is coolest near the ground).

Turn the unit off until the room warms up.
Good luck

E1 CODE ERROR

E1 code for the primary humidity sensor behind right side grill. Unit MUST be unplugged from outlet. Take right side grill out, unplug sensor from wire socket and plug back. If no help, you need new sensor.

Dehumidifier runs but doesn't produce water

Your dehumidifier has a circulating fan that draws the room air over the coils. If there's no air movement out the front or back of the unit, the fan motor may be burned out or stuck, or the fan blade may be broken. If so, you need to replace the fan motor or the fan blade.

P1 and P2 error codes

Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

I hope that helps.

CH1 IS SHOWN AS WELL AS THE BUCKET FULL LIGHT

I have a LG model LHD65EBL that first started icing up along the top edge during humid days. After several months of this, it finally stopped working and displayed CH01 with the bucket full indicator flashing.

I took apart the dehumidifier, removed the temperature sensor from the coil and rubbed it between my fingers. I then plugged in the unit and it started right up, confirming either a sensor or other circuit problem related to that sensor. For my model unit, I ordered sensor assembly #6877A30013L from RepairClinic.com for $21.75 + shipping.

When I received the assembly, I measured the new and old sensor with an ohm meter: new sensor = 5.5KOhms, old, defective sensor = 5.34KOhms. I installed the new sensor assembly and the unit is working fine.

Just because the bucket full indicator is flashing along with an error code does not mean there is a problem with the bucket full switch.
