I followed the instructions in the manual for permanent drain installation, but the bucket continues to fill and there is no water in the hose. The condensed water seems to be dripping from an opening on the right of the machine, while the hose is connected to an "L"-shaped outlet on the left.

SOURCE: I purchased a LG Dehumidifier

Remove the drain bucket. on the top there are two pieces that can be removed just by taking them out. they are just laying in there. 1 is the brush the other is the "drain tube insert" it is a plastic tube and has a threaded fitting on one end. take your garden hose with a female connector on one end just like you were going to install on your spicket outside of your house and connect it to the threaded end of the "drain tube insert" make sure you knockout the round plastic drain plug cover hole located in the back of the unit (it is behind where your power cord was stored) it has three tabs to break. remove drain bucket. take the drain tube with hose attatched and insert it into the drain plug hole in the back and attach it onto the drain outlet (the drain outlet is inside the drain bucket side at the top it looks like an elbow fitting) push the tube so that the flap with the arrow is flush with the back. once you get the "drain tube insert" almost all the way flush with the back -->if you look inside the drain bucket side you will see where it fits over the drain outlet

SOURCE: I have a Maytag M7DH65B2A. I hooked up a hose to

Had the same problem. Make sure you tighten the house a little with pliers. Also, make sure the dehumidifier is up a lot higher than where you're draining it into. Mine drains into a utility sink. But I have the dehumidifier propped up onto a dresser. I cut a small piece of hose to run into the sink. Seems to be working now.

It will take 5 min or so to establish a water flow, so be patient after you hook everything up. Good luck.

SOURCE: Trying to use the hose

This may not help because I'm not sure of what you have, but most dehumids when using a hose hook to a fitting on the tank. If that's what you have, before you hook the hose you have to either punch a knockout in the center of the hookup on the tank or cut it out. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: i have a hose discharging water from back . but

The clog is not in the hose. It's in the hose connection tube inside the unit. To unclog it use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar that is flexible and will fit into the hole. NO wire coat hangers though. Gingerly work it into the hose connection hose, until you reach a bend in the tubing. This is the tricky part, as you have to get past this bend. Be careful and work it past the bend. Once the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip Tie, slowly pull it back out while rotating it. This will dislodge the clog. Once the Tie is almost all the way out, be prepared for water to follow.

One other thing. If the unit stops operating check that the bucket full light is illuminated. If it is remove the bucket and empty the contents and then check the seal between the hose and the drip tray. If there is a small leak then replace the hose gasket and re-tighten the hose.

FYI - Your humidifier does not have a pump. It relies entirely on gravity to drain, when you use the hose connection.

That should solve the problem.

My dehumidifier bucket fills and wont drain thru the drain hose

* Brand and model# needed for specific instructions.
*** following is for the Kenmore dehumidifier ***
* Check your warranty and call for service.
*** The following is for information only ***
* I had one of these dehumidifier. I've used both the drain bucket by itself and well as the hose attachment.
* the bucket has a hose cap at the bottom to allow a typical garden hose to be attached. Remove the cap and attach the hose.
* If you want to use just the bucket then you will need to remove the garden hose and re-cap the bucket. Otherwise the water will just drain on the floor. You can find a replacement cap at any hardware or garden shop.
* There is a sensor switch under the drain bucket. This senses if there is a bucket present and it will turn off the unit once it's full of water.
*** The bucket must be present for this dehumidifier to work ***
* You must place the bucket in the right position for the unit to come on. The attached hose must move freely up and down to prevent the bucket from being weighed down and turning off the unit as it thinks the bucket is full. Lifting the hose a bit up and down will give you an idea if it's too heavy.
* Final; there is an adjustment knob in the front to determine how dry the air you want. I've used this unit to dry out wet carpets in a room so it's set at max and usually takes about 1-2 days to dry out a room (in Hawaii with 60% humidity). You will need to set this up and adjust it for your purpose.

The dehumidifier runs just fine with the exception of water filling up in the bucket. I want the water to drain continuously into a drain. How do i fix this?

well 1st not all machines are made to be a continuous drain type , if so your machine would have come with instructions on how to convert it over for this function , aside from that a little low tech approach to this (not too great looking though) is to drill /melt a hole into drain bucket just big enough to allow a hose bulk head fitting to be screwed into it (hardware store item) and use a simple garden hose for the drain connection

Drains through hose and into bucket

this happens when the drain tube becomes blocked so unit overflows and water falls into bucket and not flows out tube , clean tube and drain port with compressed air (wear eye protection!!!)

WE don't have a hose attached but water keeps coming out continuous drain hole instead of bucket. Sometimes the bucket will fill however we can't ever be sure

was machine ever converted to use a drain hose ? reason I ask if it has , some models are not backwards convertible , as ports and holes inside the machine have been knocked out to allow for use with a hose , , if your machine has a hose port sticking out im betting this has been already done , as I've not seen units come from factory with them already installed , but do include conversion kit inside package with instructions

Dehumidifier manual

Good morning friend, thanks for your post!

Based off what you're explaining it sounds like your Frigidaire dehumidifier might not be leveled. Any time your dehumidifier is not properly leveled water will not drain out the rear but instead into the bucket. I would recommend checking to assure your appliance is leveled. If your dehumidifier is leveled detach the hose to make sure nothing is blocking the water for exiting into the hose. If those steps are unsuccessful and you continue to get water into the bucket please respond back and I can research more information for you. Best of luck. -Matt

The water won't run continuously out, instead the tank fill up. I have it set up to run continuous but the tank keeps filling up. I have the Westpointe dehumidifier.

Some dehumidifiers don't require that the bucket be in place, when a drain hose is attached to the unit. I'm not sure that's the case with yours, because I'm unfamiliar with the Westpointe brand. You should also check the drain connection that the hose is connected to. It may be clogged, which forces the water into the bucket instead of draining through the hose. If you have something flexible like a long plastic Zip Tie, that can easily be run into the hose connection and slowly pulled back out, while rotating it should loosen any clogs. Be prepared for water to follow. Do not use a wire coat hanger to do this and be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged from the wall, before attempting it.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know.

Danby continuous water flow will not work on a dehumidifier it still fills the bucket

Please try the following:
1) Remove the bucket.
2) You will notice a round outlet/spout where the water drips from into the bucket.
3) Remove the plug from the backside of the unit (you will now see a hole to the bucket area).
4) Feed a hose through the hole from the back and attach the end of the hose to the round outlet/spout.
5) Place the other end of the hose on a floor drain outlet.
6) Put the bucket back into the unit.

When the unit is turned on, the water will now flow through the hose instead (into the floor drain). When you want to use the bucket again to capture the water, you will need to remove the hose.

I hope that helps.

Fdk45p1 dehumidifier

Has anyone figured out how to get a 25-pint Frigidaire dehumidifier (model FDD25S1) to put water out the drain hose for continuous draining instead of into the bucket? It appears to be impossible to connect the hose in a way to avoid water leaking into the bucket.
