How do I adjust the brightness on my Dell Latitude laptop?
You can press the following keys to adjust display brightness: Press and the up-arrow key to increase brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor). Press and the down-arrow key to decrease brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor).

Could be dust or other stuff stuck in your keyboard. You can use a hair dryer without the heat on and blow the keyboard several times. If that doesn't work, the cheap way is to use a USB keyboard. Worst thing is you need to change your keyboard. It would cost round about 30$ to 50$ depending on where you live. Mine cost 70$. If you are still under warranty run to your supplier and make them change the keyboard before the warranty runs out.

You can try the FN+Number lock which is quite often or the FN+F11
also FN+Screen lock which is quite often FN+F12. Let me know the respond.

You should be able to turn both of these on using one of your function keys, and the number keys across the top. The wireless symbol should be F5 (it is on my laptop) so hold function (bottom left key) and hit F5, that should start your wireless.

Maybe the drivers for the special keys are not installed. Try simply pressing the F2 key instead of Fn+F2. If it does the trick, then you have multimedia keys first option selected in BIOS which means you need to use Fn to Press function keys.

Otherwise its a driver problem.

Keyboard might have gone bad. Try hooking up a external keyboard and see if they work. If they don't then you have a motherboard issue. If they do then it is a keyboard issue. If you lucky it is just a keyboard then you can get one here for 20 bucks.

It is really easy to replace.

You need to download the ATI Hydravision software, that is what I had to do before the picture would show up on my TV using the VGA-->Svideo connector

Do the Function keys work too or not? There are function keys that control the screen brightness, mute, volume, monitor swtiching etc.

If all of the function keys work, then you may need the "power board" under the keyboard. It's a little circuit board that controls volome, mute and power. Available for eBay sometimes.
