I HAVE NOKIA 5530 XM. IT CANNOTSEND TEXT MESSAGES. WHEN I PUT MY SIM IN ANOTHER PHONE , IT SENDS MESSAGES, MEANS THE SIM IS FINE, AND WHEN I PUT ANY OTHER SIM IN MY NOKIA 5530 IT SENDS MESSAGES, MEANS THE PHONE IS OK. BUT, THE COMBINATION OF MY PHONE AND MY SIM DOES NOT SEND MESSAGES, WHY? I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, CONFIRMES SMS CENTRE NO. , CLEAN UP THE SIM , CHANGES CONTACTS NO. ETC. BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. WHENEVER I SEND A MSG IT GOESINTO OUTBOX, AND SHOWS A MSG THAT " UNABLE TO SEND MESSAGE". PLZ HELP

Hard reset your phone. This will delete all the content of your phone so remove your memory card before resetting your phone. On the home screen type *#7370# .

for sending text messages :
1. call to your network operator customer care
2. request the message center number...
3.note it down
4. go to message settings>message center number
5. insert the number which is noted by you and save it
this solves your messaging problem ...

You need a new sim.

Older sims aren't up to the demands of newer handsets anymore so they brought out more powerful and higher voltage sims.

Go to your local mobile phone shop and explain your problem to them and they should be able to sort you out a new sim. :)

call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options
