U check the power supply board and it is good and power is on LED light power indication light up.Than only one possibility the tv Tuner signal board is shorted and dead. That the board, where the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner signal board for the replacement.
Power supply module is to supply voltages to the main control board (the board where the TV cable and video cables are connected to), backlight inverter board. You can buy the whole control box which has both board assembly (power supply and the main control board): http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=Polaroid+4011-TLXB+&limit=25
Does it work in TV mode?
It can be either the power supply is not putting out all the needed voltages, right now you only have the 5vdc standby voltage (because the RED lifght is on) or the backlight inverter board is bad, it is the board that drives the CCF lamps which is the light source for the screen, it may be bad or not getting the 24vdc from the power supply. worst case will be the main board that is not sending signals to turn on the power supply and the backlight inverter board.
Turn it off and leave it off. It seems
that your unit has some sort of major PSU
fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This
happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. You need
to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm
"Quote" for the work to be done.
I think I may have just solved this issue. Remove the back covers and turn the tv on until it the screen goes black. There will be a little red led that will light up when the screen goes black. right above that light there is 4 little swiches, the bottom one is labled BURN. Switch that one to the opposite direction. I don't know how but mine has been working for a couple days now with no issues. GOOD LUCK!
