Blinky... I'm attempting to hook up a lynksys Etherfast router, a BEFSR41 v. 2.0. I've connected all the computers to the Router, but one does not show any connection whatsoever. However the other one began alternating between having a connection and not having one. I've disconnected the router and the first computer fron the router in order to have at least one machine access the 'net, and the other computer is still doing the odd oscillation.

What kind of internet connection do you have? if you have a cable internet connection maybe the problem is your subscription to the isp provider. your bandwidth or the allow connection is only for the one pc or connection only.

Where does the phone line go in the lynksys box.

Phone Line?

You need a cable or dsl modem to connect to the internet. From the modem you run an ethernet cable to the "broadband" or "Internet" port of your router.
Also make sure your lynksys is a router, not a switch

Hope this helps

Have an Acer Aspire PC computer - trying to hook up a Lynksys nr041 router so can hook up another HP Notebook computer...not for sure how to do this and be able to use internet on both computers. Thanks...

Ok if you have DSL this router will NOT connect via PPPoE so no user name or passwords for dsl. But if you have a cable modem just plug the network cord from your cable modem into the WAN port on router... then plug the computers into the 1-4 ports on the router.. you might need to reset your Cable/Dsl modem after everythings hooked up.
