I can't start any type of media, itunes, window live one care or anything. I have tried restoring it to a previous date and still nothing. My windows live car says it has been turned off and i will have to restart the computer to solve the problem but it never does. And everything is acting really slow, I can't get the retore point to load unless in safe mode and when it's in my profile it pops up a blank window that never loads until I hit the log off button then it pops up and logs off...

Well I have been deployed and there has been no internet to connect to on my laptop. I can try it again but the problem didn't start until I tried to play a movie in my disc drive, then it just stopped abruptly letting me know I had 5min of battery life. I plugged it up and tried to continue the movie and that's when all my problems started.

I can't print anything off the internet MP600

Switch On your PC/ Laptop and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

My windows media player is not working...why?

When did it stop working?
Try a System restore. Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. Choose a date when you know Windows Media Player was working OK.
If that doesn't work Download VLC player or iTunes as an alternative.

I want to restore my windows 98

Under normal circumstances, Windows is capable of detecting and recovering from registry errors automatically. If Windows is incapable of this, a previous copy of the registry can be restored manually. Windows makes and stores a backup of the registry when you start your computer successfully each day. By default, five previous copies or the registry are stored. To restore one of these previous copies:
  1. Start your computer, press and hold CTRL, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Windows 98 Startup menu. If you are running Windows Me, start your computer with the startup disk.
  2. At the MS-DOS prompt, type cd\windows\command, and then press ENTER. Where windows is the name of the folder in which Windows is installed.

  3. At the C: prompt, type scanreg /restore, and then press ENTER.
  4. Select the previous registry you want to restore, and then press ENTER.NOTE: A properly working registry has the word "Started" next to the date.

  5. When you receive notification that you restored a properly working registry, press ENTER to restart your computer

Windows media codec problem, none of my 3 thousand songs will play now due to a modification that was done. i am trying to download the newest version of windows media player for my computer but they don't...

Please go to control panel and click add/remove programmes. Here check for the new version that you have installed. Remove it and you will get your old version.

If it is not there, then go to Start --- Programmes-----Accessories-----System tools ---- System Restore.

If you can find a highlighted previous date here select that date and restore your machine to that date.

Downloading music files

iTunes might not be able to find a file or folder if:
  • The media files were moved from the iTunes media folder to a different location on your computer or to an external drive.
  • The media files were accidentally deleted from your computer.
  • The network or external drives storing the content are unavailable.
Correct the media file path Use these steps to help iTunes find the media file's correct location:
  1. In iTunes on your Mac or PC, select the song, album, movie, or TV show that has the exclamation point next to it.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Get Info.
  3. When you see a message asking if you want to locate the file, click Locate.
    • If you know the file's location, point iTunes to it and try to play your content.
    • If you don't know the file's location, search for it:
Mac: Press the Command ? and Space keys on your keyboard, then type the movie title, app, song, album, or artist name.
Windows: Press the Windows key on your keyboard, then type the movie title, app, song, album, or artist name. If your keyboard doesn't have a Windows key, press the Control (Ctrl) and Escape (Esc) keys on your keyboard.
    • If the file is on an external or network drive, connect to the external drive or network volume.
    • If you find your items in the Trash or Recycle Bin, restore them to their previous location:
Mac: Control-click or right-click the item and choose Put Back.
Windows: Right-click the item and choose Restore.
  4. After you recover the file, use Get Info again to locate the file, then point iTunes to the correct location.
