There should be yahoo messenger installed on your computer.
Please login to the yahoo messenger with your yahoo email address and password.
Then once you are logged in when the window comes up on the top on the menu bar click on messenger.
Under messenger "Yahoo Chat" is an option.Please follow the directions. Thanks.
Double click icon of yahoo messenger you will see sign id and password type there click signin
Click on the Yahoo Messenger to open the messenger. In the Yahoo! ID give the email ID of your yahoo without "@yahoo.com", suppose if you have an account with "[email protected]" in Yahoo! ID type "abc" and in the password filed type the valid password for the account. Click sign in and you will be signed into yahoo messenger chat. Without valid yahoo email ID you cannot enter into Yahoo Messenger. After that if you want to enter into a chat room click on the menu (at the top) Messenger -> Yahoo! Chat -> Join a Room...then click a chat room and enjoy chatting.

download Yahoo messenger here http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/
then open the application it will automatically download it for you. if you are using windows it might ask you if you want to allow Yahoo messenger to pass firewall allow it.
open yahoo messenger click on "messenger" menu in the sub menus click on "yahoo! chat" then join room. after that it will open another window select the chat room you like to join by just clicking. enjoy
