Netgear DG834G wireless router wth built-in modem doesn't connect

I purchased a Netgear DG834G wireless router wth built-in modem yesterday and I am trying to set it up to connect to my MTNL connection through the ethernet cable.
However, the DSL light doesn't ever get solid green on it.It keeps flashing.
I also have a D-Link modem supplied by MTNL and when I connect that, the DSL light is solid green on that.
Am I going wrong with the connection somewhere? Can someone help me? I haven't made any changes to the physical setup either. All wires are connected the same way as they were with the D-Link modem.

I have just purchased an iPad 2 and it's asking me for my Netgear password; the default password doesn't work, so I must have changed it - but I can't remember what I changed it to!

so then you can simply reset the router so to go back to its default password ...or if you want to know your recent password, simply use your computer that is currently connected to your router and is working...then follow the steps in this link http://netspace.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/netspace.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=508&p_created=1216184248 Configuring your Netgear DG834G & DG834GV Wireless Network
Note: you dont need to configure the wireless just check the password you have setup there so you can connect your ipad wirelessly...
Thats it!! (-_-)

Hi, I have a netgear DG834G version 3 wireless router. I want to buy a wireless printer, will this router support one? If so, have you any opinions on the best buy? Thanks

any wireless printer should and will work with this modem-router as long as it's wireless settings are configured right, if you already have a computer connecting to this router wirelessly then that means the wireless functionality of your router is working. you just have to know the wireless settings of your router such as the SSID or the wireless network name, the type of wireless security and the wireless security key or encryption key.. once you have a wireless computer and it wireless feature is enabled it will automatically detect all networks name or SSIDs around the area, that includes your modem-router's and neighbors'.. when you try to connect to the SSID of your modem-router you will be asked for an encryption key or a password to be able to connect.. that will only happen if you have enabled a wireless security on your modem-router.

Don't have home phone and looking to buy router/modem.

Yes it requires a phone line for AT&T, or a cable modem, or a community wireless modem to hook up to the internet

Do i need the cables for the router?

To go Wireless on your desktop Acer Aspire L3600, you should consider buying an USB Wireless Adapter. It could be any brand as long have same frequency with your Netgear (i.e 2.4 Ghz/5.8 Ghz)

Connecting another router

i would'nt recommend it, theres no need for two unless you have mote than 4 hardwired pc's and 8 wireless, especially if they are both modem/routers, you cannot use two, only one modem/router and one router

Can't get internet access through NetGear DG834G Router

You have to configure your router...

If your ISP provided you with IP Address, enter the assigned IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP address anbd DNS IP address for your broadband router.

If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a Password and a Service Name, then your ISP uses PPPoE to establish a connection. You must enter the required information.

Hope this could help..
