For some reason the card has corrupted. Maybe it's bent or something similar - or it's just an odd problem. Try first to power down and take out the card. Check the contacts for any dirt or similar and clean. Put the card back and try if it works.

If it doesn't work you might still be able to download the pictures to your computer with a card reader

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Sorry to say but this camera does not come with a internal memory with it, so you really need to get a memory card for it for you to use it.
Here;s the link for the complete specs of this camera.

Nikon d60 won't play back pictures

Sounds like your computer or the software program you're using to download your pics is set to automatically erase the card after the download.

Pics exist but may be damaged

First of all, recover lost files from memory card
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect memory card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download best photo recovery software from here
this asoftech photo recovery program help me before, works quite well and it's easy to use
4. Install and open asoftech photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your photos.

After you get back your photos, you can format the memory card to fix the problem.

My nikon d60 is starting to take forever to show the picture after taking the photo, and now all the sudden is shows a black box with shooting details on it, i can't get that off!

In your manual you will find how to change the display format (picture only, histogram, etc.). The time it's taking to display your image "might" be that your memory card is getting quite full and you're shooting large images. I shoot a D80 and it uses an SD card. Make sure you but a fast memory card if your camera does not buffer the inage before writing it to your memory card.
