I have a Toshiba REGZA 40" LCD M# 40RF350U S# AM384002263 TV, when I turn it on it has a multicolor vertical lines that appear on one third of screen and last for about 15 - 30 minutes which we dealt with, but now, it will not go away at all and stays on all the time. What can I do? This TV is only 2.5 years old.
Unfortunately TV's aren't built to last anymore...once LED sets came out the life of them dropped in half over what they were 10 yrs ago.. 2.5 yrs isn't that far below average anymore. .There is a good chance you have Tcon board issues, you can try the old trick of cooking it in your oven and see if that helps since it started out as intermittent or would work for awhile and got worse but only about 20% at best of the time that works, you can find instructions on how to do it on youtube if you want to try, it won't hurt anything but chances are it won't fix it...next step is buy a tcon board but there are other things that could cause it , tcon would be where I would start

unfortunately this is the display and it will cost as much or more than you paid for the set to have it fixed. You might can call Toshiba and see if they will help you with it. Is it less than a year old, if so it is still in warranty and they will have to fix it.

I have this same problem with my 52 inch toshiba regza , The repair shop has said the cost of repair is as much as it is to replace the TV. I am past the one year warranty, but less than 2 year ownership, so Toshiba won't fix the known issue. Solution is don't buy a Toshiba
