I have thru-wall PTAC Amana PTH093B35AM unit. I tried to turn it back on after power failure. Only fan motor comes on. When I press heat or cool buttons or temperature up and down buttons, the motor switches from high to low, motor will not switch to AUTO. OFF button and Fan Speed button do not respond at all, temperature/touble code display is blank, status LED is off. How can I trouble shoot/fix the problem?
Thanks in advance!

What does PF code mean on Amana PTAC unit?

I would assume that there was a recent Power Failure (PF) or that it may still have a power failure. Find the double pole breaker and turn it off and back on

My amana ptac is not heating....the code "np" is displayed....how do I correct this...we just installed the unit and know little about operation. Thanks

I don't see this error code in the manual. I do see nP as an error code for Window Switch lockout. I just had this happen to me and they had me reset the control board.

Remove case, flick master switch to OFF for 10 seconds. Press Heat/Cool same time turn switch back on HOLD until off light comes on.

You should be fixed. Just had to do this for my unit. I was playing around with the settings and turned on the window switch option by accident.

I have an Amana ptac hotel type thru the wall unit. The unit won't turn on - it's plugged in. The gfi button is popped out. There is power to the wall plug. Any ideas?

Hi,
If you reset the GFCI button and then when you go to turn it on the button pops again, then you have a short inside the units probably in the fan motor or the compressor..

Press and hold up and down arrow at same time -press off twice to get into program mode (should read C1) -press heat button to scroll to C2 the use up arrow to scroll through options. You want to set it to read-out "On" then press off to set. This should be the continuous fan mode.
