Hi,
I am trying to reset the red hand on my watch to the "12" position. The manual seems to refer to this as the GMT hand that indicates a second time zone. I know how to reset the 1/10 second hand and the second hand but I can not seem to find anyway of resetting the red hand on my chronograph. I do not see anything in the manual that explains how to do this. Any assistance you can offer would be much appreciated.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I had a similar issue and this saved me!!!!
Very nice! I just had my battery changed by a jewelry shop in LA, and when I got it back the reset point for all the stopwatch functions were screwed up. the guy gave me a "not my problem" answer and I thought I'd have to send it in. thanks to this forum I got it figured out. thanks!!
The red hand is not for GMT on the chronograph model (the one with push-buttons above and below the crown) but for chronograph (stopwatch) seconds. It can be adjusted with the crown pulled out into either the first or second setting position- I forget which, you'll have to try each one out- and then pushing one of the buttons to advance it to zero (again, I forget which button, you'll need to try them both out). The small seconds sub-dial at the 6'oclock position is for constant seconds, not chronograph seconds, and cannot be set, but only stopped at whatever position you want and then restarted again, by pulling the crown all the way out to the second position, and then pushing it back in again at the right moment.
You have to push the button repeatedly not hold it down or press it once as you would to get it to reset to 12.
There a four (4) setting positions using the two crowm positions and the two pushbuttons. The combination yields all four required settings in the rest position.
1. Seconds,2. Minutes, 3. hours, 4 1/10 second. Each press of a button, advances each dial (depending on the crown position and the button being pressed) by 1 second. Holding it in for 2 seconds, the hand runs continuously like a second hand. The manual is brief on reseting zero. I had the same problem and was getting a replacement watch, after just 2 days, really. When I accessed the FIXYA web-site and now DONE !!!
Unscrew the crown and try pressing the buttons...they'll adjust the hands. Note that there are two adjustment positions when you pull the crown out, so you'll have to figure out which one works.
SOURCE: Resetting GMT hand
I have CL1180 and had the same problem, pulling the winder out to position 2 (fully out) and using the buttons resets the second and 10th second hands and putting the winder in position1 and using the buttons does the same for the minute and hour hands. However finding position1 was tricky, only seems to work on the way out from fully home and not on the way back from pos 2.
Hope that helps.
