Mircowave runs but doesn't heat and it has a load hum.

did you check and replace the door switches

You should first be sure your filters are clean and that your ductwork is clear.

if the cost of the diode isn't prohibitive to you(normally max $15.00) and you like the oven, but when replacing get a diode with a higher break-down/operating voltage as this may be a problem,get one thats rated for 12,000volts or higher or even a commercial grade diode

This appears to be a model for which GE does not offer parts or service, and which must be returned to the place of purchase if under warranty.

If it's out of warranty, you'd have to find a local servicer IF you want to put any money into it.

GE Customer Service is here. You can find your nearest GE-authorized servicer there.

I would suspect a blown fuse or the magnetron's thermal cutout / thermostat has opened.

It does not heat.

I already replaced the HV diode. That did not fix the problem

It still has a loud hum and no heat. I'm guessing the magnetron.

The unit is six years old. I did not purchase it, the unit came with my house.

It is cheaper to replace than repair.
