I have purchased a Toshiba Laptop,Model no.L500D supplier part no;PSLKOA-00ROO9 Product serial no-89268649K/ L500/00R Batch 421 from Harvey Norman;Auburn/NSW 2144 on 4/11/2009 invoice no;606045.Actually i have supplied with windows Vista Operating system,for this system windows 7 os is free,so far i have not received,how to get it

If your talking about the Windows 7 upgrade from Vista, you have to request that from the Microsoft web site. That is a Microsoft promotional offer and typically not handled by the vendor selling the machine or manufacturer although the Toshiba site may have a some information on this. Double check the Toshiba site and customer support from them then if you find nothing go to the Microsoft web site.

1st. Contact Harvey Norman - Auburn and ask them how to get the Windows 7 upgrade.
2nd. If they cannot assist you, then contact Microsoft

and ask them how to get the Windows 7 installation CD, you need to provide then with the purchase receipt etc.

I've been told by pcworld that my Toshiba satellite L500D needs a new motherboard but that they cannot source the part? How do I get hold of one?
Well, there's one on ebay USA, but it's about £250! So might be cheaper to treat yourself to a new laptop.

first of all try to repair your current OS or formatt it or install another.

if the problem exist your cd\dvd drive may be damaged and you may have to replace it.

Having trouble activing the wireless application
There should be a switch on the front of the laptop, on the edge. It should be a switch that is two-directional. There will be some pictures, one with a computer, and one with a computer with some waves coming out from it. Switch the switch to the side of the computer with the waves, and you will activate wireless internet. Follow the on-screen directions and you will receive the internet.

If this does not work, contact your internet supplier or find an internet supplier.
