Hi,

This is most likely a backlight related problem. It is most likely one of two problems:

1) Something is wrong with your power/inverter board. Most likely you will need to replace bulging or bad capacitors on the power board. They will like have voltages between 16-25V and capacitances of 470-1000uF. You will need to disassemble the monitor, remove its power board, and inspect it. If you notice bad capacitors, you will need to desolder them from the board and solder on new compatible ones. This should solve the problem.

OR

2) If replacing the capacitors doesn't solve the problem, the problem may be with your backlights themselves. If you are able to test them, that would be best. Replacing them is a pain as you will have to disassemble the LCD panel itself to get them out. You will then have to replace them with compatible backlights of the same size, which you can salvage from similarly sized broken monitors.

Keep in mind that the suggested actions above are for individuals with some experiences in soldering and repairing circuit boards or LCDs. Also be sure to wear anti-static gloves or wristband and keep the monitor unplugged when performing the above stated actions (except of course when testing voltages).

Please check this link for the user guide of emachines monitors and check the troubleshoot section..hope it will help….

Is it the screen or the laptop?
Have you plugged an external monitor to see if its booting?
If it is booting with an external monitor, you may need a replacement screen (google your model and replacement screen)
If its not booting, you could try this.....

Emachine - no signal

This isnt a one step fix. Power off unit then while powering on tap F8 key to get menu with option to boot to safe mode. If this works could be a driver or malware issue which can sometimes cause windows to come up in safe mode but not normal mode. This is only a start not a solution.

My e19t5wtft lcd flat panel monitor will not come on. when it is first plugged in, the blue ring light come on then go off

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further

When the computer is turned on the monitor goes off. Then when I unplug it and plug it back in it comes on and stays on until I turn the computer off and back on again.

My monitor goes black but I can faintly see the images on the screen. It was said here that it appeared to be capacitors. What can do?

Dell E173FPb 17" TFT LCD Flatpanel

Video cards that can handle two monitors at the same time have cables with two plugs on the monitor end.

If your video cable has two plugs on the monitor end, try the other plug.

My computer will not detect the monitor

install the proper driver. a generic windows driver may not be suitable. The monitor should have come with a disc.

Emachine 19" Widescreen Flat-Panel TFT-LCD Monitor

Your power/inverter board is in need of an overhaul.
The capacitors are failing and possibly a transistor.
If the screen showed any redness or pink whebn it was working, Then there is a slight chance that one or more of the 4 lightbulbs in the screen was going bad and finally went.
If you take it apart and send me a picture, I may be able to tell by looking at it.
