The tempature here in n.c. Was 98 today. Should the inside tempature keep up with the set tempature? It is set at 75 and inside will only go to 77. Is it broken?

The F3-E2 error code means that the heated well above the setting the tempature was set at. The usual reason the oven would over heat by so much is a defective oven tempature sensor and the sensor would need to be tested to see if is the problem to test the sensor it would need to disconnected from the wiring to it and measure the amount of ohms of resistiance AT ROOM TEMPATURE when the oven is off and cool. At room temp. the the meter used to check the sensor should display between 1060-1100 ohms,if the number is vastly different that 1060-1100 at room tempature the sensor is defiently bad and should be replaced. This is what the sensor looks like it will be inside of the oven chamber and again to properly check it the wiring should be unplugged and the meter leads should be placed into the plug at the end of the sensor to measure the ohms. If after checking the sensor if its within the range of 1060-1100 ohms at room tempature the problem is going to be the control board.
Pleas note, proper sized units may only reach a 20-22 degree split from inside to outside temp differance. This done so that moisture is removed thuss making us feel cooler. Sound stupid but our bodies feel cooler at lower humidity than higher. When we sweat the water on our skin eveporates making us feel cooler. It might be better not to look at the thermostats set tempature and maybe just walk inside and out of the house so you can feel the differance. As always you should have a professonial check the system and keep your filters clean.
One thing you should know about a gas oven is that they do not keep a constant tempature like an electric oven does. So going by a tempature gauge in the oven can fool you. The way a gas oven works is by "average" tempature. In other words if you take the highest and lowest tempature readings and average them out you will get the actual tempature. For example let's say that you set the oven to 350. Well first it will take about 10 to 15 minutes for the oven to properly pre-heat. Once it is preheated you can listen to the gas burner and watch a tempature gauge(flook meter is best). When the gas burner shuts off the oven tempature will continue to rise. When the oven tempature stops rising then you will take that reading. Then wait for the oven burner to come back on again and watch the tempature gauge. When the tempature gets to it's lowest point and stops then take that reading. Do this several times and then take all the tempature readings and add them together then divide that number by the number of readings you took and that will give you the actual tempature. Within 5 degrees is great but anything over 10 degrees can affect your cooking. This will give you an idea if your oven is out of calibration or not.
The thermostat will display the current tempature in the room. When you press the buttons to change the tempature and you see it change back it is probably going back to the room tempature display but still keeping the temp you set it at. Also make sure the "hold" feature is set or the temp you choose can change at different times during the day due to the programmable features built into the thermostat.
will the air flow switch from floor to the mid to defrost? if so then we have a problem with the tempature door actuator. easy to replace just in tight place. Keep me posted for more help or if this was any help thanks
